Gotta Love the 12-String!!, March 5, 2011

Okay, I'm prejudiced in favor of the 12-string guitar. I own a few myself. Roger James "Jim" McGuinn, founder of the Byrds got me hooked on the sound. I have several record albums and tapes of 12-string music. Neil Jacobs does a beautiful job of bringing out the voice of his 12-strings - he used several different ones, all acoustic - on this CD. Comparing a 12-string to a "regular" 6-string is like comparing a pipe organ to a piano. Mind you, I'm not taking away anything from 6-strings. I have a few of those, too. It's just that there's just so much more to 12-ers. Jacobs' album easily scores five stars from me. I can listen to the beautiful voice of 12-string guitars forever. I really do hope there are some in Heaven.
