This review is from: 120 Minutes Raggedy Ann Cartoon [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I was hoping that this video was of a movie I saw as a child in the early 80s with Raggedy Ann and Andy. All I really remember of it was the candy monster. Well, this video is not it. This video is actually several short cartoons from the 1950s to 1960s- only the first of which is Raggedy Ann. Raggedy Ann is given to a blind girl named Billie and she helps her see with her heart since she can't see with her eyes. There is a Casper cartoon where he goes to the moon and saves a small race of people from the mean tree people, a Betty Boop where her cute little dog Pudgie wants to be like the tough bulldog, an Audrey cartoon about Mother Goose, an animated Three Stooges, a Little Lulu where she can't find her ticket to be on a train, Hoppo the Hippo who is afraid to get vaccinated, and several other cartoons of an obscure nature, some amusing, some just awful (like one that tells the story of the tortoise and the hare that is really long and just terrible.)My 3 year old son mostly enjoys this tape and it is worthwhile on its own. I was just disappointed that it wasn't what I thought it was. |
