I used this heat gun to reflow my Playstation 3 GPU and CPU back to the motherboard. I see many people buying heat guns for this purpose. This was the cheapest option I could find and it did the job very well. This is a solid product for an extremely reasonable price.

I bought this product in order to use on my PS3 phat which went through the yellow light of death syndrome for a second time, first time around i actually paid a store to fix it for me, but it was a little on the expensive side, so this time i had decided to fix myself with various guides.

I didn't have the tools, more significantly the heat gun, i bought this and it worked great, i was able to fix my PS3, the price was very cheap, and i can say i am very happy with this product.

I have this a 3 stars only because there is no adjustment for heat (it does have two speed settings but not temp setting) and it's SUPER hot. It burnt almost everything I pointed it at so far. So I have to be careful. And I can tell you that for a fact, there is no way it will stand to a drop from more than a couple of feet. It's made of cheap plastics.

BUT with all that said, it works and does what it says it will do. So 3 stars is not bad. Average.

I was afraid that this would be too cheap to get the job done, but I just finished stripping the multiple layers of paint from all of the trim in the dining room of my 100+ year old house. It was a tough project, but this product held up very well. No problems, and I plan to use it in my living room next.

I've used this machine for many hours already and it hasn't failed yet. If possible, turn the heat gun on for a few minutes in a ventilated area as there will be LOTS of smoke coming out of it at first.

I used this to heat up some heat shrink. Works very well and performed the job at hand. The only note that I would make is that the one I received was not black and orange, it was black and blue. No big deal to me, but thought that it should be noted.

Even though I've got the most awesome and efficient windows ever produced, I'm a complete miser. I shrink wrap my windows every year just to save a few nickels on heating costs. That's why I initially bought this handy dandy heat gun. Was I impressed? Yes, indeed. I put my shrink wrap on the first window, pulled out the heat gun, and waved it over the plastic wrap. Within seconds, the plastic shrank so much that it ripped the adhesive off the window trim and balled up into a crinkled lump of smoking stench! After another try, I finally got it under control and my windows are sealed tighter than a nun's hoo-hoo-dilly. About a week later, I'm in the bedroom reading a wonderful novel about the reintroduction of platypi into arctic wetlands when I hear my wife screaming bloody murder. I run downstairs to find her running around the family room with her head in flames! I grab her and throw her, face first, into our fish tank. Water, fish, snails, and all manners of fishdom go flying all over. As I drag her from the fish tank, I hear a distant whining noise and then a crackling sound. I rush to the bathroom and find the heat gun laying against a wall that's cascading with flames! I scream for my wife to help, but she's over there in the family room too busy with her scorched head and a plecosthemus suking on her temple. I run for my fire extinguisher (which I purchased somewhere back around 1983) and discover it's useless. It belches out some white powder as it makes a fart sound, but that's it. All the while, the flames are getting bigger and bigger! I grab a water pitcher that we use for tea and start scooping the remaining water from the fish tank. Like a one-man bucket-brigade, I'm making almost no impact on this conflagration.Read more ›
