5.0 out of 5 stars Sunpak 120J TTL bare bulb flash, August 16, 2009
This review is from: 120J Autopro Flash Kit With TR-Pak Power Pack (Electronics)
This product is probably discontinued by the mfg. Sad to say because it is a super flash unit that can be powered by either 4 AA batteries or separate battery power pack (originally the TR-PAK 2a). The main point of having this flash is if you want to photograph a very large dark area, like the inside of a tomb or outside at night. I got super results at 80 feet or more with the bulb bare (no reflector) sitting straight up in the fixture without wash-outs at nearer items. The light just floods everything. With the reflector, it may qualify as an aircraft strobe because that would make it even brighter, of course.

This is a very powerful portable flash, and with exterior large battery, the recharge time is about 3 sec with over 100 flashes. Battery will get hot in rapid shooting. This unit or whatever replaced it is a beast. Adapters for all major brands of cameras.
