"For a born and bred New Yorker, 123 New York is a great choice. . . . we love the hip and bright pop art graphics . . . you'll enjoy talking about the colors and shapes with your child with this contemporary and spirited take on classic picture books." —Mamanista.com

"A new page-turner with baby-friendly drawings of local institutions (Coit Tower, the Giants) and flavors (crabs, grapes)."  —Daily Candy San Francisco Kids

"This would be a wonderful gift idea if you are planning on making a trip to San Francisco. The book is small and sturdy and has rounded corners for safety. Perfect for little hands!"  —Go Graham Go!

"Awhile ago, we told you about the cool counting books from Duo Press, which includes titles such as 123 Texas, 123 Chicago and 123 New York. Now another new corner of our great nation can claim fame to its own counting book!"  —Mogul Baby

"These books are a fun way to introduce babies and toddlers to the landmarks of their hometowns."  —Stroller Traffic

"The books are durable and sturdy for little hands and are a fun, visual way to teach your baby or toddler. Kids will love the bold colorful art. Parents may dig the handy glossary that helps identify each page item (for those moms and dads who need to brush up)."  —INO Mommy

My 18 month old loves books and this one is fun for both of us. He adores the pages about Cable Cars and balls! I also have the California book, which was given to me as a gift. My only comment is I wish the author had been a litle more imaginative with a few of the items he listed, as some are repeats from the CA book... there are many more cool things about SF he could have used that would have made it less redundant. Small gripe though. Nice first book to read with your kiddie or fun gift for visiting friends' kids to remember their trip by.

We live in the Bay Area so I thought what better way to teach my toddler how to count than with a book about the city we go to the most? My daughter loves the pictures. It's an adorable book!

There are no words on the pages...which can give the reader freedom, but if you are trying to follow the words of the author to match illustrations, you'll have to flip to final pages to get the bilingual sentences. Images are modern, colors are bright. My preference is words on pages.
