Book Description

Vampyre Majick June 1, 2008
After defeating the thirteenth demon, Jonathan Steel and Josh Knight return to Dallas, Texas, to finish up Josh's family affairs. When they arrive, a mysterious assassin named Raven surfaces from Steel's murky, dangerous past. At the same time, Rudolph Wulf, the twelfth demon, has arrived from Romania with plans to fulfill a two-thousand-year-old promise to unleash an army of demonic creatures-creatures that will inhabit the bodies of his "vampyre" army. When Wulf kidnaps Josh, Steel must find them in time to save Josh from a violent death and to prevent Wulf from unleashing "vampyre majick" on the world.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unique Blend of Good Vs. Evil, March 13, 2009
This review is from: The 12th Demon: Vampyre Majick (Paperback)
The author of The Twelfth Demon has penned quite the multi-part series. I found his subject matter both horrifying and fascinating. Vampires and vampire cults, angels and demons, the battle of good versus evil. I found myself sucked in most of the time. This isn't literary writing or deep character studies, it's all about the plot in this involved read. Though I did not read his first, The Thirteenth Demon, I wasn't lost in the second book and picked up what I needed to follow the story without drowning to too many details. Big fans of supernatural thrillers might want to check into the ultimate good vs. evil story.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second book in the series following Jonathan Steel, July 11, 2008
This review is from: The 12th Demon: Vampyre Majick (Paperback)
"No rest for the weary" is the proverb that describes the lives of Jonathan Steel and Josh Knight. "The 12th Demon: Vampyre Majick" is the second book in the series following Jonathan Steel as he deals with an insurgence of the supernatural in the natural world. Assassins are after Steel, Knight, and their families; a demon is setting out to brining a vampyre Apocalypse upon the earth. Jonathan has to foil the evil plot or be consumed himself! "The 12th Demon: Vampyre Majick" is an original and intriguing fantasy, highly recommended for community library fantasy collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jonathan Steel is the Christian version of Anita Blake, May 12, 2011

This review is from: The 12th Demon: Vampyre Majick (Paperback)
The 12th Demon was a heart-stopping thrill ride from beginning to end. I couldn't finish it fast enough. Even though this was the second volume in the series, there was enough background information that you didn't feel lost. The dialogue and characters were well developed. I particularly enjoyed "Theo Nosmo King" who was a six-foot seven homeless man that Steel helped "save." He said that his mother named him for the first thing she saw when he was born which was the "No Smoking" sign. Also, the history of vampirism was well researched and interesting. Anyone who enjoys the Laurell Hamilton, Anita Blake series needs to jump onto the Jonathan Steel bandwagon. Who knew you could be a Christian and still fight demons and vampires?
