I don't know, how many Americans will read this, but it would still be too few. Die Aerzte is probably the finest punk band in the world and it's a shame that noone knows(outside Germany).
If you buy this CD, you'll get 17 brilliant songs, breaking all genre chains. These songs are nasty, sweet, hard, loud and, above all, funny. There's no band in the world that makes so hilarious songs(such as "Party stinkt" or "Grotesksong"). And "Rebell" is a punk tune that's still not reached by any band. And "Nie wieder Krieg, nie mehr Las Vegas!" is definitely the fastest and coolest song ever.
You'll even find country music on this album, a swing number called "Punk is..." and some adorable love songs. All songs are catchy and melodic and played on high speed.
If you speak German, you can enjoy great lyrics, mostly ironical.
If you like Green Day, The Ramones or Social Distortion and if you don't hang on to just one genre, you gotta buy this CD!

13 by die aerzte is the best german punk rock cd. From the first time I listened to it, I could tell it beat all other die aerzte cds. This cd is definetely more punk than others like "Runter mit den Spendierhosen..." and "Die Bestie in Menschengestalt." I can honestly say I enjoy listening to every song on the cd, except for #1, "Punk ist" and #3, "goldenes handwerk." Other than that, everything is SPITZE! #4, "meine Freunde" is a kind-of gross song dealing with homosexuality, but the way the song is, you can't help but crack up laughing!! In addition to extrememly funny songs like "party stinkt," "maenner sind schweine," and "grotesksong," there are two really heart-melting love songs. #15, "nie gesagt" is so sad about someone who doesn't realise how much someone means to him until they are gone. The guitar part with the song is so moving, and it mnakes the song even more sad, in conjunction with the lyrics. In all, if you like to listen to punk rock with hilarious and witty lyrics... buy 13 by die aerzte!!! you'll love it!!

Well, what can I say about Die Ärzte? They are, besides Die Toten Hosen, the best German punk band. And 13 is their best album. They got all very good songs, and some of them, like Las Vegas and Ein Lied are two of the best songs I ever listened. But it has something else: 1/2 Lovesong, the best song of Die Ärzte, and the best German punk song of the world. Die Ärzte=pleasure. ¡Una banda de la gran puta!

Although most of their songs are in German, they have a unique style which is appealing to the English-speaker's ear. Ärzte music has a driving beat that is conatagious. They consider themselves a "Punk" band, but are unafraid of venturing into other genres. "13" is what got me started and hooked...It is my favorite Ärzte album, and "Männer.." is my favorite song. I recommend their music to anyone with ears, really.

This is a great CD. I heard them while I was in Germany and their song "Maenner sind Schweine" was an immediate hit-only I don't see it on this version of the imported CD. I bought the CD while over there, but I am perplexed as to why it's not listed on the US Import. Anyone know? Please respond here. Other than that, it is a wonderful CD, whether you understand a whole lot of German or not.

I have the German version, which includes Männer sind Schweine, which is a brilliant song. The rest of the album is good too.
