5.0 out of 5 stars Best Christian Hip-Hop CD of 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This CD is off the charts!!! It features Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, and Flame with quite a few other talented MC's that are less well known in a group that is called the 116 clique. I definetely recommend this album to everyone the beats are of the charts and all of these MCs come with pure fire track after track!!! They break down the 13 Pauline epistles over hot beats...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept, mixed results
Firstly I'd like to go on record to say that I love the concept for this CD, and my admiration goes out to all the artists, and Reach Records , in particular, for putting this out for the edification of the body of christ. That said, the results are mixed. I must first say that being a mainly east coast flavoured liking person, some of the more southern flavoured songs...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Christian Hip-Hop CD of 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, May 31, 2007

They break down the 13 Pauline epistles over hot beats that teach you about the Bible and give you the background to the various books with catchy beats and hooks!! I put this CD in the hands of quite a few secular hip hop heads and they all agreed that this CD could compare with anything on the secular Hip-Hop market today. I firmly believe that this is the best Rap CD that has come out since Lecrae's After The Music Stops CD. Take my word and cop this CD today!!!!!! I would also recommend Flame's Our World Fallen, Lecrae's After the Music Stops, and Cross Movements HIStory CD which will dropping on the 5th of June.

incredible. skills abound. a very satisfying purchase. an oasis in a desert of lame rap. PERIOD.

Get Loose is my least favorite, but the 3 other songs by Trip Lee are worth buying the entire album for. There are some great laid back tracks, such as shai linne's, Sho's, Lecrae has one, plus Flame's. great, great album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best group in Rap today, August 25, 2007
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
The 116 Clique is the #1 group of Christian rap artists out there, and they put all other rappers to shame. This album is exactly what it's all about. Every song on here shows exactly why they are the best. It's not just music, it's a message. They took everything they learned from Jesus Christ and legends before them like Cross Movement, and applied that to an album that should have been around years ago. These guys can change your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bible Study, August 22, 2007
By
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
I have never heard a CD like this in my life. There are a lot of great biblically based CD's out there. But I repeat, I have never experienced a musical project quite like this before. These young men have assiduously studied the 13 Pauline epistles, learned the historical contexts surrounding each letter and effectively summarized and expounded upon each text in the form of a rap. They have exemplified a proficiency in God's Word that is indeed seen in some churches but not others. Listening to this CD is like experiencing a great Bible study. This is another testament to the work of the Holy Spirit through the ministry of the Cross Movement who happen to be the spiritual mentors of most of the individuals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, July 30, 2007
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
This album is like nothing you've ever heard before. No matter you're hip-hop background, whether you're a big fan of the east-coast style, southern style, or mid-west/west-side style, the album is TANTALIZINGLY good on all fronts.

Leave the stereotypes about Christian hip-hop behind; if this doesn't make you a believer in the new school of hip-hop, I doubt anything will.

A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rapping for Jesus is really where it's at!, July 18, 2007
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
Well I gotta say that I love this Cd. I myself like more of the "harcore" rap and beats, so it really its home to the listener! Lecrae is one of my favorite "christian" rappers as he is very real, his spirit is in tune with God, raps very well and spits it hard!

It seems this is the music we need in todays society as it has become so perverse. I used to have about 500 rap albums, but I don't even this to them anymore. Everything I listen to now is filled with the holy spirt and this is the way it will stay.

I thank God for people such as Trip Lee, Lecrae and other various artists who rap for God and continue to do so! It sounds great! I just hope more people listen to this instead of all the other garbage out there.

All I say is keep it up! Bring the beats, and the verses! Don't stop until the casket drop, lol.!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, June 25, 2007
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
All I can really say is that this CD is amazing! A few years back I listened to secular rap because Gospel hip hop really was not that great in comparison. Now I got rid of the secular because I truly feel that the 116 clique has better music. Not to mention that their lyrics glorify God and teach the listener life lessons. The cross movement's album history is also a really good hip hop album with Christian lyrics. Buy these CD's up. "Dig In" and "Get Loose" are my two favorites, but the whole album is solid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterfully done, June 17, 2007
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
This album is masterful. It's:

1) Christ centered. The artists do an amazing job of expositing the 13 letters of Paul given the study that they put in before making the songs. They all come very knowledgable about the conditions at which the letters were written and do a great job of breaking down the text of the letters into a culturally-relevant language. I've never heard the Word being spit this way on an album. You get background, teaching, and application from this.

2) Filled with talented MCs (Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Sho, FLAME, 1-Lyfe, Dillon Chase, JSon) who bring lyrical fire on each track. There is no weak MC on this track - and the lyrics are meaningful.

3) Diverse in style with the beats and sound each track. You get the dirty south sound, east coast beats, nice slow jams, R&B-esque tracks, the midwest sound... it's all in there and each artist does a great job of using the beats with their flow. It's balanced as well: No one style dominates or one MC dominates (like Lecrae on the 1st 116 Clique album).

If you like high-quality lyrics and production, diversity, balance, heart, soul, passion, and something that edifies you and challenges you, this is it. ...And it's all for the glory of God.

Good tracks to preview: 'Dig in' by Trip Lee, 'Philippians - To Live is Christ' by Trip Lee, 'Galatians - Justified' by Sho.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Christian Hip-Hop Album Of All Time, November 20, 2007
By
This review is from: 13 Letters (Audio CD)
This is seriously the Best Christian Hip-Hop Album ever Made!!! The Message of this album is the 13th letters Apostle Pual wrote. The Songs are summaries of the Books with the verse from the letters right in the songs. It has some extremely talented artist like Shia Linne, Trip Lee, Lecrea, Diamonde, Flame, J-Son. The songs Hit!! You can really bump these songs and just get into them, and will make Bible studies way more fun. I'm telling you, you will not be able to put this album down.
