GI Style Mess Kit Review,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 133 G.I. STYLE MESS KIT (Misc.)
This is NOT genuine GI Issue. It is made in China and made of cheap aluminum. Don't waste your money, go buy the real thing from an army surplus store.

Certainly any G.I would use this. Only style is similar. Thin metal and even dented. Pan lever doesn't fit. plate and pan doesn't fit. I can't recommend buying this.133 G.I. STYLE MESS KIT

Just got my mess kits in. I ordered 2. They are definitely thin cheap aluminum as well as the handle being very flimsy. One of my kits came with the "pan" part of it dented in! I wouldn't recommend it. I only got it for my bugout bag as a 72 hour standby. I really don't expect it to last longer than 72 hours. Paper or plastic plates might be a better alternative and be cheaper and lighter too. Definitely not any GI issue I've ever seen. Its so cheap even the military wouldn't buy it!
