Bruce Soord is absolutely brilliant and 137 has to be one of the greatest cds I own. If you haven't heard Pineapple Thief before think of taking Radiohead, Porcupine Tree and Smashing Pumpkins, combining them into songs that will blow you away. I've never written a review or a recommendation for a cd before but this one I would recommend without reservation or hesitation. Do yourself a favor, get it and you will thank me for the recommendation.

Pineapple Thief are absolutely wonderful. I will be travelling from Ireland to Middle England to see them perform at a 2 day Festival (Under IQ on the Bill). They only perform LIVE about oncce a year (Usually festivals) and no way could I miss going to this one (Capacity only 400 so should be intimate). I agree with the other reviewer in regard to Variations of a Dream not being mentioned. ALL Pineapple Thief CDs will please the inquisitive ones, but Variations of a Dream is without doubt a MASTERPIECE. The fans favourite song is Remember us (16 min.s I think) But my favourite song is Part Zero - Really atmospheric).Bruce also is the Mainman on Vulgar Unicorn which has invited vocallists etc to perform the songs. At times therre is a Smashing Pumpkins comparison. Under the Vulcano would be the recommended one here. If you get hooked on Pineapple Thief, you will want all Vulgar Unicorn (Who have just released a NEW CD (Though it is from a few years ago but never released). Pineapple Thief will be releasing a new CD very soon. An 8 minute sampler is available on their website PLUS Bruce speaks to his fans often on his Newsgroup PRIVATE PARADISE on Yahoo. As a total musical fanatic I rarely find music that moves me as much as "137". I would have to rate this as one of the best cds I have in my collection. Dreamy, psychedelic, forceful, the music changes constantly...and the singer Bruce Soord has a wonderful voice. All I can say is WOW...

We are September 21st and Amazon does not offer yet the newest album of Pineapple Thief "Variations on a dream" which is out since at least 2 weeks . How such a great band could be left on the side like that. Thank god I was able to find it in store over here. Pineapple thief might not be known to the public but the public does not know what they're missing.
