This replacement battery worked right out of the box. After soome use and a fresh recharge it's still going strong. It seems to have a longer charge life then the original Dewalt. I looked into replacing the actual battery pack after reading some how-to's on the web. But after seeing what it entailed the price of this replacement was too good to pass up. The OEM battery lasted almost 6 years so if this battery lasts that long I will be happy.

This is to replace Dewalt battery which is $70 or more. I never used replacements before and have considered repacking the battery with new cells, but price of this battery was worth the try. It fits well into the drill (actually better than the original, although this may be a chance thing) and charges well on the original's charger. The drill spins powerfully and I gave the drill short squeezes without the load for about a week now. The battery seems to be holding the charge. I have not used it yet, not even for a screw, and I don't know how long the battery will last, but on its face, it seems to be well made replacement for expensive original battery. I decided to put a label on the battery with when it was bought. I will see how long this lasts.
About a year later, 9-21-11: Still holding charge. By the way, my habit of charging is to charge the battery if I used it for any more than 20 minutes. I don't keep track of if it is drained or not, etc. I used the factory battery in the same way.
12-17-11: Renovating the laundry room. Finally noticed that the battery does not give enough of work time. For example, fresh charged backup battery was not used for 2 days. After removing (not driving) about 2 dozen 1-1/2 inch screws,and making a 3/4" hole with a spade bit through about 5 inches thick layers wood, I tried 1-5/8" spade bit on a 2x4. The battery gave up after going into the wood for 3/4". I can't recommend this battery for a serious work.

I love DeWalt power tools. I have a shop full. I have found that they perform very well and last a long time. However when it is time to replace a battery pack for your cordless drills, it gets interesting, for the prices are rather steep. Normally I don't buy "no name" power tool products, but with the large price difference, I decided to try a non-brand 14.4 volt power pack to see how it holds up to the DeWalt brand. I bought this PWR+ Ni-cad pack several months ago and so far it has done very well, keeping a charge a long time and recharging quickly. Recently I needed to use my cordless drill and realized that I had not charged this power pack for some time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it still had a full charge and performed well when needed in a hurry. This vendor was VERY fast in filling my order and the product was just as advertised. Seriously consider a PWR+ replacement battery when faced with a battery pack that will not hold a charge.

The battery performed as well as the DeWalt batteries. No problems whatsoever. Very happy with this purchase. Saved quite a bit of $$$$ too!

These batteries work as good as the original ones. I found this to be the only practical way to replace my batteries. If you purchase new Dewalt batteries at a store, you will pay twice the price or more. For what they want in the stores, you might as well throw your drill away and buy a new one.

the price is right and the batteries gave new life to all my old Dewalt cordless tools ... FYI for those who might not know it the battery base is pretty interchangable for all different size Dewalt tools so these 14.4 V batteries work just fine in not just my old 14.4 V cordless drill and finish saw, but also my 9.6 V drill and 12 V drill and boy do they ever hum with the larger capacity battery ... they run faster and stronger ... even the the light 9.6 V drill has some real brute force now :)

This battery pack was purchased for a portable xray unit (which accepts the original dewalt battery). Based on the good reviews I decided to try it. Some slight modifications had to be made for the pack to seat properly (there were some extra plastic tabs that had to be ground away). Otherwise... works like a charm so far. Time will tell for how long, but considering the price, its value cannot be beat

I received the batteries as promised and immediately put them on my charger. They both got an A+ for performance. The down side is they are not made in America. We will have to see the long term performance on these imported batteries. My original Dewalt batteries lasted over 10 years and one is still ok.

I had not used my Dewalt drill for about 2 years because the original batteries had died. So rather than buy a new drill I decided to give these replacement a try. They arrived ready charged, both worked well. I have recharged one of them and it seems fine. So far so good. I'm hoping they last longer than the originals.
