14 pieces for guitar,
By Steve Wildenauer (Bloomington, MN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 14 Pieces For Guitar (Audio CD)
This is one of the most enjoyable fingerstyle CDs that I have ever listened to. The first song LISBON is hypnotic as it welcomes you into the world of Reynold and his solo performance on a classical guitar. Each of the original songs give you an appreciation for the creative talent of Reynold Philipsek. When the music is over and the church bells ring I find myself wanting to listen again real soon. Thanks Reynold.

Impressive Piece of Work: Check it Out,
By Searso "northstop@hotmail.com" (St. Paul, MN) - See all my reviews

Being a fan of his previous work, I thought I had a handle of Reynold's talents but this new CD brought both surprises and satisfaction. At first listen, the guitar pieces were solid and complete but as the listenings continued, I saw new depth and innovate textures of the pieces. The CD has a decidely classical flavor but Reynold's unique style combined with some very sly and understated guitar playing makes this one of his best.Impressive and worthwhile.

14 Pieces For Guitar Impresses,
By Bruce D Elliott (Mendota Heights, MN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 14 Pieces For Guitar (Audio CD)
As a newcomer to Philipsek's work, I was first impressed by the variety of influences and styles presented here, and the artistry of their presentation. But after repeated listening, what most impresses, like reading a collection of excellent short stories, is Philipsek's uncanny ability to introduce, develop and conclude each of these unique, freestanding pieces with such economy and elegance. So, impressive as Philipsek is as a performer what carries the day on this refreshing CD is the clarity and intelligence of the compositions.
