This review is from: 14" Wok Hoak (ladle)
This is one of the most sturdy ladles
that I have ever owned, and I got it from the "Wok Shop".

Well Designed,

This product is superbly designed for its purpose. Sturdy and solid(and
the Wok Shop is about the fastest mailorder retailer I have ever encountered).

I found this great wok ladle and made my purchase based upon the price. I was pleasently surprised that is is very well made and easily cleaned up in the dishwasher.

As a previous customer/reviewer stated, the handle comes off. Mine came apart the first time I used it. I am going to try to repair it, but decided to write this review to let other future potential customers know that this is not an isolated case. BUYER BEWARE!

Flimsy Wood Handle,

I got this ladle thinking I was getting something that was a single unit. The wood part of the handle never fit and it was always a problem. Could have been that I got a defective unit? Possible, but the ladle was not up to snuff.

Bought the spatula and ladle for my 16" wok, the wooden handle is an easy fix, first I put the end of the spatula/ladle into boiling water, the intense heat made it expand a little so the wood handle can be inserted as far as possible, then immediately run it under cold water so the metal part has a tight grip on the wooden handle afterward. these spatula/ladle are great for money but i prefer the one made of wood/bamboo to prevent scrapping off the patina/seasoning of my wok.

Well worth the price,

At my local restaurant supply a ladle very similar to this one was going for twice the price. The ladle comes in two parts of the metal section and the wooden handle. The handle simply is wedged into the metal and holds well. I recommend tapping it in a little bit with something like a rubber mallet (to avoid damaging it) or if you have carpet just pounding it on the floor with only a little bit of force. The wooden handle I received was fairly flawed with small wood chips and some sharper edges. Nothing a little sand paper didn't fix easily. After sanding it was smooth and looked great.
