Great Pool but the water won't drain out,

The pool is great, big and large and we can fit the whole family. If you want to drain the pool, good luck. It won't drain. There is only one drain hole. The water will never come out. I called Intex and Amazon, they gave me a few pointers but it didn't work. The Customer Service person was very nice but didn't believe that draining was a problem. If you want to buy the pool, just make sure you an electic air pump, you will be using it a lot with this pool. The only way you will get the water out is to deflate the pool. It's cumbersome!

we bought this pool along with the cover last year. size wise it was great but we most definitely found it a pain to drain and keep clean. the water is very very hard to get out and we found the pool to get slimy after a week or so. someone told us to put a clorine ball in each night to help the water quality. the pool is fun but we plan to buy the new intex pool that you blow up the ring and fill with water. it has a pump with it- we feel it will be worth the extra money.

This pool is great. I have a 2 year old, this pool gave her good feelings about water. I was able to practice what we learned in swim class. I read someone was having problems draining this pool, I keep a 10 feet piece of hose near by and when we are finished for the day and the water needs changed I simply siphon the water out and it's ready to clean and fill when we are ready to use it. IT'S VERY SIMPLE.

I bought this pool last summer for my 3 and 4yr. old boys. I also purchased a small electric pool pump to air it up. The boys loved the pool and it was roomy and just the right depth for them. However, when it came time to drain the pool, it was a nightmare. The drain hole does not work! I had to completely deflate the pool to get all of the water out in a reasonable length of time. I even tried attaching a siphoning hose to the underside and letting it drain. That works fine if you want to take a whole day to drain it. Anyway, once it's drained comes the cleaning. You have to blow it back up and then get inside with a rag and bleach to really get the slimy junk off. Yes, I did try the chlorine ball, chlorine tablets, etc. However, it still gets slimy after a week and you have to drain it to get all of the dirt, leaves etc. out. I looked high and low for a pool cover for this pool and I couldn't find one.The pool was extremely durable. My kids really put it to the test and it passed. Bottom line- My kids loved it, by summers end; I HATED it! Too much work. We are opting for an above ground with a pump and filter this year.

This is the biggest blow up pool I've ever seen. The kids love it. The neighbors' kids love it. Their neighbors' kids love it. Hold many, many kids and keeps them cool for hours. with the right pump, it's even easy to inflate (do not try to blow it up yourself, you don't have enough air in your lungs). All in all this is an outstanding pool. The only problem I have is having to clean it. Also, the small drain hole takes a while to drain the pool. I put a hose next to the hole under the pool before I fill it up so the water has some place to go when I empty it. Or you can deflate the rings, but that will flood your yard (or neighborhood).

Like the others, it is a pain to drain the water out its a great size for me, my husband and 3 year old and great for her learning to swim a bit but a pool with a pump and filter would be easier. it gets slimy after a few days and it takes an hour to fill up. otherwise it is fun after you get the water in. I also am finding it difficult to find a cover to fit it.

I've bought several of these pools. The upside is that we love the style of the pool, however, it is with some modifications. The downside is the durability could be better, but I've learned to master the art of what to do and what not to. The trick is to treat this large pool just like a large pool. You have to use chemicals and a filter. I built a "U" shaped "gizmo" out of PVC piping that fits over the rings and hooks up to a 1 hp filter. There is even a skimmer on it. The parts cost less .... After checking the chemicals in the early a.m. and a 5 minute cleaning around 11 a.m., the fun is on for the rest of the day.

I was skeptical about the set up and take down of this pool, but my husband reverses the flow on the vacuum and blows up the pool that way. its quick and easy and you don't have to buy a pump. As far as letting the water out, i just deflate each ring starting with the top and let the water out that way, its very quick and easy. We bought the pool cover and put some chlorine in it every night, so the water in the pool stays fresh for about a week. My kids are 4 and 6 and they love it! my older one practices snorkeling in it. i would definately reccomend this pool.

We love this pool. My 3year old, my husband and myself can all get in and play and have room to move around! But it is a huge pain to drain. We have a cover, and add sanitizer made for small pools, but it still gets green slimy about every other week. To drain it, I have to sit on the side for a while to let some water out, and then lift the side with the drain, and put a small ball under the drain so it is off the ground. Once enough water has drained out, then I have to put more balls under the other sides so that it is tilted towards the drain. Takes about 3-4 days for the whole process. Huge pain!!! I will try the hose thing though and see what happens. I would not buy this again, I would invest a little more money and buy one that comes with a pump and filter. I have seem those for a little over a hundred. The extra money is worth the time it saves you!!

I bought this pool last year as a temporary way too cool off. It has been great. It can sit 8 adults, but my 5 and 8 year old enjoy it the most. Cleaning and draining it last year was a problem. But this year I got a cover for a 15' regular above ground pool and added some "shock & swim" chemicals and the water has stayed clean for almost 2 weeks now. The cover is big enough to tuck under the pool, so no more bugs. I also used a small pool vacuum...to get dirt off the bottom. As far as durable, well just last week I drained the pool and left for a ball game. A storm kicked up and blew the pool around my house, across a gravel road and down a hill into some trees. It still holds water and had not deflated yet. Something with a filter would be easier, but this will due for now.
