4.0 out of 5 stars Rare, innovative design, weird handset
I bought this phone free after rebate and it's one of those rare tiny phones with the keypad in the base. This makes it an ideal wall phone. I can't say it's useful as a desk phone as the base slides around despite it's heavy weight. The keypad in the base is a good plus for a phone this inexpensive--usually you need to get a much more expensive speaker phone just for...

3.0 out of 5 stars Was OK for about 9mths
This phone HAD good sound quality even with my DSL(yes filters were on)...Just a barely audible little hiss on the line unless you turn up (well "slide up")the phone's volume too high). There is a thingie you slide to control the volume...no button. I guess for the price I should not expect anything GREAT. Well after around 9mths or so I am getting such a BAD crackling...

I bought this phone free after rebate and it's one of those rare tiny phones with the keypad in the base. This makes it an ideal wall phone. I can't say it's useful as a desk phone as the base slides around despite it's heavy weight. The keypad in the base is a good plus for a phone this inexpensive--usually you need to get a much more expensive speaker phone just for buttons in the base. If you spend a lot of time with voice-response systems, as many of us do with voice mail and such, this telephone is the most convenient way to do it for the least money.

The handset is weird. The microphone is entirely too skinny and if you're a shoulder-holder you probably won't like the phone. The handset cord is long enough but it's the cheap dull-finished kind that gets dirty easily. Get a nice AT&T Tuff Cord to replace it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its so cool!, August 11, 2002

I was actually looking for the Sony corded phone(IT-B3) at the store when I came across this phone.

My gosh what can I say.. I love it! For its price there is literally nothing cooler than this. Compared to the otherATT DesignLine phones, this is the most stylish. I can't believe I got a work of art for this price ;)

The unit feels solid, sleek and the handset is light the the sound comes over crisp and clear. Since I just got this unit, I can't say how reliable it is, but it looks tough.

I'm a happy camper.

There is a thingie you slide to control the volume...no button. I guess for the price I should not expect anything GREAT. Well after around 9mths or so I am getting such a BAD crackling noise on the line (even when my I'm not using my PC and the DSL is not on)that I can no longer use this phone. What is sad I paid almost $15 for it @an office supplies store yet I am seeing it on various sites including this one for between $5-10 now. Oh well... LOL.

I was pleasantly surprised by this phone. It feels solid, has a nice design, and has excellent sound quality on both ends of the line.

The handset on this phone is way too weird to use comfortably and the phone is so light that the base gets dragged around by the handset when you are using it. I like the AT&T 210 Trimline phones (which are supposedly discontinued, but easy to find on Amazon.com) much better.

I was looking for a well made "basic" phone. My husband is very hard of hearing, so it needed to be hearing aid compatable. This phone fit the bill. He can turn up the volume without loosing the quality of the sound.

I bought the phone for my mom, who has trouble gripping things. She had a phone with the buttons on the handset, and would inadvertently press some of the buttons while holding the handset. This phone's handset is very lightweight, and has no buttons that could interrupt the call. The sound quality seems to be good as well.

The ATT 146 phone is just right. Anchored so the cat can't knock it over, ergonomically sound - fits nicely in the hand, and superior audio. Recommended...

5.0 out of 5 stars AT&T corded telephone, September 22, 2007
This review is from: AT&T 146 DesignLine Telephone (Windchill White) (Office Product)
The AT&T corded telephone was just what I had been looking for: a corded phone with the buttons on the base of the phone instead of the handset.
