5.0 out of 5 stars The 149th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Unit in the Civil War, January 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Fantastic book! It took awhile to actually get the book, because Amazon cancelled my first order, claiming that it was out of stock. On my second try on the same day, it suddenly was in stock, and I received it a few days later.

Reading this book really puts me in the shoes of my ancestors, two of whom fought in Company F of the 149th Pennsylvania. The detailed descriptions of the soldiers' movements, skirmishes, battles, and writings throughout their tour of duty brings them back to life, and puts the reader right there beside them. It does, however, make me feel sad for the generations of people who are unaware of their family's history, and even more sad for those who cannot read a book like this and become completely immersed in it.

Although information is scant regarding Company F specifically, I will add this book to my collection of family data and treasure it for years to come.
