This review is from: 15-40X50 Spotting Scope/Green Lens/with Tripod (Sports)
I purchased a Bushnell Sportview scope at the same time as I purchased this item.
So I have something to compare it to. The Bushnell was about twice the cost of the Ncstar. The Ncstar is a worthless bit of junk. The Bushnell - while not super high quality - can at least be used for the purpose for which it was made. I bought the Ncstar to use on my 25 yard pistol range. I guess it will work ok. As long as I use the 15 power I can focus on my target, if I try to get any greater magnification the focus is bottomed out. I also tried to look at some nearby mountains...(I live about 2 miles away from these mountains) HAH no way. Fuzzy indistinct. I tried looking at some leaves on trees about 100 yards away, in very good light. Waste of time. I guess I can use it on my pistol range, until it breaks, probly not long now. This is a really cheap, poorly made scope, so bad, that it can best be classified as a SSSO (spotting scope shaped object) instead of a useful item. Bottom Line: Save you money and buy something that will work. You will most likely need to spend at least a hundred bucks, better still two hundred to get something that will work and hold up for a while. Do a bit of homework, there are very good spotting scopes out there at a reasonable cost. I learned this the hard way, and hope to save you the grief - and money... jim in Gold Bar

Decent inexpensive spotting scope,
By R.L. (USA) - See all my reviews WARNING: Be careful with the O-ring just in front of the power adjustment. It is plastic and can crack if turned too quickly or harshly. Once cracked, it renders the device pretty much useless as you will not be able to adjust focus. I know - because it happen to my first one.
