I am using a( Canon EF-S 15-85 lens)- is this going to cause me to loose benafits of my new T4i over the new 18-135 lens.

A
The only think you will lose is the features in the new focusing system and the quietness of the new lens for video recording. In essence, when you have that lens on it will be the same as a T3i for focusing - but you get the benefit of the other features.
