Editorial Reviews

Review

"Jayne, I can't even begin to tell you how much I've learned from your books. My husband used to eat junk food only. He now eats like the kids and I do. He's lost his spare tire without even trying! My entire family and all of my co-workers are told about additives/preservatives, refined sugar, enriched flour, etc. I love food and eating. I have so much more energy than I did ten years ago. I work out regularly, and I've never been in better shape. Thanks again for all your valuable information. -- Chris Cotton, Minneapolis, MN

"Jayne, your book, 15 Minute Storage Meals, has been a godsend to me. The idea of food storage was VERY overwhelming. I didn't know where to begin. You have made it SO simple with telling what to store and how much to store for one month. I just multiply by 3 to fit my family. Thank you so much for making this task so simple. -- Judy Halverson, Dallas, TX

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, October 29, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 15 Minute Storage Meals: Quick, Healthful Recipes & Food Storage Handbook (Paperback)
I was disappointed with all aspects of this book. I was expecting a handy recipe guide that would give tasty meals to prepare from stored food such as wheat, beans, rice and powdered milk. I was not expecting a book that has thirty must-have foods, titled "Fabulous 30" foods, the first of which is Kellogg's Nutri-Grain cereal. The list of must-have foods also includes pancake mix, biscuit mix and pretzels, among other things. After this list of foods the author presented 30 recipes, one of which was Pizza Sandwich made by placing mozzarella cheese on toast and topping it with spaghetti sauce. The back side of each recipe page includes a supposedly useful tip, unfortunately most of them are poorly researched and some are just wrong. This book is written at the internet newsletter level. I got nothing from this book. The main ingredients used in the recipes seemed to be instant brown rice, canned beans and potatoes. I would recommend that readers who are looking for great information and tasty meal ideas check out the book, More-with-Less Cookbook by Doris Janzen Longacre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes good nutrition easy, April 21, 2008

This review is from: 15 Minute Storage Meals: Quick, Healthful Recipes & Food Storage Handbook (Paperback)
This is a wonderfully-written book that is a must-have for anyone who likes tasty and nutritious food. I thought that to make healthy food you would need to have a taste for cardboard and a HUGE budget - not so! Thanks for giving me an easy way to feed my family (with ingredients that normal people have) in about 15 minutes!
