4.0 out of 5 stars Pizza stone
When I first used this stone and heated it in the oven, it had a very bad pungent smell. After a few uses it had gone away. Seems to work very well, but time will tell since the stones get better with use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works, but not forever
In a sense, a stone is a stone. This one is quite thin, I think, but has done its job over the last few months. But mine cracked after a week of heavy baking. I guess you get what you pay for -- at this price, I don't mind buying a replacement.

The price is excellent, it does what it supposed to do (Cook homemade pizza evenly).
I recommend anyone who loves making/cooking pizza to buy a baking stone, because using steel flat
pizza pans will only cook and crisp the outer layer of the pizza leaving you with a soggy barely cooked
center. Some people complained about a certain smell first cooking out of this stone, the soulution is
simple,1.never cook with this stone right out of the box.2.soak the stone in luke warm water to release any
preservatives,or any chemicals for packaging, for 1 hr, let it dry. 3.once all dry lightly brush olive oil
on stone's surface and cook out in 350degrees for at least 30 to 40 min. I work with a traditional stone/brick
pizza oven in my work place, so knowing how to take care of the oven is the first step in making great looking/tasting pizza's.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a rock!, April 3, 2011

Does what it should. gets hot, and stays that way. Reviewers that complain about a smell should have seasoned the rock with a little olive oil before making anything on it. Works well for baking bread/pizza.

For this item the price point was most important. You could easily pick up some non-coated tiles at the hardware store for under 18$ and line your broiler with those. If you ever find yourself paying more than 20$ for a rock, PM me I have some stuff to sell you too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pizza Baking Stone, March 31, 2011

A stone is a stone, but they really work great. Equally importantly, is it was the perfect size, even for a large pizza and the price was GREAT! They could have saved the effort and not bothered to include the really "cheesey" pizza slicer. I haven't the occasion to use the stand, but that seems to be of good quality and sufficiently so to withstand use, washing, etc.

This stone cracked the first time I used it. I brought it up to temp as i should have and when I put the pizza on it to cook it cracked in two. Looks like I need to pay more money for a better stone. This company was very understanding and gave me an immediate refund.

Good quality stone. The cutter was very cheap, and I certainly didn't need it, so threw it. I would buy this stone again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, July 2, 2011

Received the product just as described. Seasoned the stones on arrival and used two days later for family pizza night. Made a uniform crisp crust. Rack is helpful for lifting and storing the stone. As other reviewers stated, the pizza wheel is cheap and could be excluded and still be a great value. I have used the stones for biscuits and flat bread and also had great results! The stones are beginning to turn chocolate brown from seasoning. Thanks for a great product.

Broke the first time I used it. Split right down the middle. Perhaps this was because I was cooking a FROZEN pizza, but even so.....
