150 Gallon Deck Box for Storage and Sitting

We were looking for a nice, dark-looking wood or rattan outdoor storage box. The two we settled on were either this product, or the pottery barn outdoor wood storage box. We decided on this box because it didn't require any maintenance such as sanding and restaining. It also is lighter making it easier to move, and it is half as expensive. The product just arrived and I assembled it last night. Assembly was very quick and easy. The box is constructed from a plastic material which is intended to have a "wood-look". Up close it is clearly not wood, but the dark color and slatted appearance make it the best looking plastic storage box I have seen so far. We're pleased with the overall look of it together with our existing outdoor furniture. When it is assembled it seems quite sturdy and has no problem supporting two adults for bench seating just as advertised. Also, it is one of the larger storage boxes available capable of holding a hefty 150 gallons. Overall, our first impression after assembly is very good. The box is just what we were hoping for in terms of appearance, size, weight, and ability to provide additional seating. The only unknown for us is how well it holds up to the elements, which is the reason its received four instead of five stars. I plan on updating this review in a year to address this.

Addendum: After having the box for a full year, we remain very pleased with it. Throughout a hard winter all of the contents remained dry. It was also fairly easy to clean with just soap and water. As of now I would highly recommend the box as it has functioned well for us.

This 150 gallon Keter Deck Box is well built and sturdy enough for heavy adults to sit on. We store our deck chair cushions in one and outdoor tools (blower, etc.) in another, as we do not have a garage. Assembly was very easy and requires only a screwdriver and (optionally) a rubber mallet. We found this same item listed at [...]. They were sold out but their site lets you search Sams Club stores for stock and we found that one about 25 miles away still had several. We bought two for just $98.44 each, less than 40% of the Amazon merchant price!

The box is large. Fine. I will give it that and there aren't that many products in this good size. But it stops right there. I bought two of them. They both suffer from the same design flaws. The lid does not close tightly - it warped after two days and the two corners are not closed tight as they should. The rain will and did get in. So after all, its size that was supposed to be its main advantage is also its biggest flaw.
I have another Ketter shed and I should have learned the lesson from the first product: cheap design on top of cheap plastic materials. Not good.

This box was just what we needed to store all of our outdoor toys and equipment for our cottage. It came promptly. It was very easy to install and it looks great because of the brown color it blends in well. The other boxes were a light colored material which just did not look good. It is very sturdy also. We are very pleased with our purchase.

There were no directions enclosed so it had to be put together looking at pictures on outside of box and had no idea where to put screws enclosed Could not put together properly. Also while the outside dimensions were given there were no inside dimensions which is critical for cushion storage the box was not big enough for all my seat cushions This is my second review of this product never heard back on the first one

Bought this at Sams and within two months it fell apart! Do not confuse this with the Suncast products, they have been great for years!!

Cheaply made. The top section lifted off in the first wind storm. We wrote to the manufacturer asking for suggestions and had zero response. I finally secured the top section with screws. We will avoid buying any of their other products.

I spent a lot of time searching for the right box online. The pros: attractive (brown plastic is innocuous, unlike the cream-colored plastic ones that are widely available), nice hydraulic lid, HUUUUUGE, stayed dry inside after a full day of rain. The cons: maybe?? wouldn't sit on it. It is quite sturdy feeling, but would you plop a couple of hundred pounds onto a plastic box? I wouldn't think twice about a couple of kids sitting on it though.

It really is huge, so know the dimensions and where you want it, but we wanted a huge one. We put our two floaties in it (large ones), and all the pool cleaning equipment, and it just got thrown in there. It wasn't a puzzle to figure out how to arrange stuff to get it all to fit. I would imagine there's room for another floaty or two, a few lifejackets, and some toys.

This box is great, very large, can hold all 12 of our oversized cushions. It is very overpriced on Amazon.com. Usually you find things cheaper here, but this is an exception-I found it at my local Sam's club for $98.00. Even with the membership fee, it was still cheaper than the Amazon price. It was easy to assemble, the lid is safe for kids, and it very easily seats 2 adults on top.

Box arrived on time, in tact and as advertised. Perfect for storing the clutter, tools and small furniture previously cluttering the patio. Durable and maintenance free. Customer service was excellent. Highly recommend this product; in fact purchasing a second box today.
