Great bulb for fashionable "barn" lights,

I bought this nice, globe bulb to put into my new barn light pendant in my redecorated den. I had purchased the same bulb from Lamps Plus for almost ten dollars. Their bulb made a hissing sound. This one is the same big size, much cheaper and doesn't make any sound. The bulb is about 4 or 5 inches around.
