4.0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't say "Xtreme"
Just installed these lights in my 08 Impala. I definitily would not call them "Xtreme" white or very blue but there is a difference from the stock bulbs. These bulbs are whiter than my stock lights but not an "Xtreme" amount whiter. As far as the blue the only blue I see is a slight reflection in the back of the headlight casing from the blue glass and tip but you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good bulbs, but not as expected
These bulbs are pretty good, but definitely not as expected. I was expecting these bulbs to be white, with a hint of blue. I wanted nicer looking headlights, without switching over to HID. These are brighter than my stock bulbs, but still have that nasty yellow look. They are whiter than stock bulbs, but still yellow. In terms of brightness, they do illuminate the road...

Just installed these lights in my 08 Impala. I definitily would not call them "Xtreme" white or very blue but there is a difference from the stock bulbs. These bulbs are whiter than my stock lights but not an "Xtreme" amount whiter. As far as the blue the only blue I see is a slight reflection in the back of the headlight casing from the blue glass and tip but you basically have to look almost directly into the beam to see it and it is not visible from a distance although I wasn't expecting them to be very blue being halogen. They do provide a crisper light while driving and I feel that they do provide better vision and are a little more aesthetically pleasing to the eye which is what you are paying for. If you are looking for the dramatic colors and blinding light you are going to have to go Xenon HID which will run you about $150-$250 installed from a car customs shop. Overall I think that they serve their purpose for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better lightoutput, September 20, 2009

These bulbs definately have noticeable difference in light output, especially over OEM bulbs. The light is brighter and has hint of blue.

It is definately NOT the deep blue that: 1) look stupid; 2) cause pain to others in oncoming traffic.

The ONLY real problem I have is that these bulbs last about 18-24 months. You need to be sure to handle these bulbs with "kid gloves" and protect the bulb from being touched by anything. But with a 2005 luxury SUV, I am on my 3rd set of these bulbs.

When I see the another SUV that is the same model as mine, I notice that their headlights aren't as bright and powerful, and are the yellow-white color.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good bulbs, but not as expected, October 24, 2010

In terms of brightness, they do illuminate the road better at night, so I'm not completely unhappy. I just think that they are extremely overpriced for what you get now. I hope they last longer than expected. I've only been using them for 1 month, so we'll see.

4.0 out of 5 stars A noticable difference, January 11, 2007

These bulbs provide a noticeable difference is lumen output. To compare the light output to the factory bulbs, I only installed one of the bulbs and aimed the headlights at my garage door at night. I don't have access to a light meter but the difference was obvious.

Also, the color temperature of these bulbs is a pleasant white with a hint of blue.

I gave the bulbs 4 stars because I've only had them for two weeks and I'm not sure of the bulb's longevity.

First off, I hate the word xtreme. I ordered these because I had a headlamp burn out and needed one quickly and didn't have time to go to the autoparts store. When I changed one bulb (leaving the other functional OEM bulb in place) in my Honda Pilot, I was concerned that this bulb would be bluer than the slightly yellow OEM Osram bulb. These are made by Phillips in Germany and look very similar to the Osram (also made in Germany). At night, I turned the headlamps on to see if there was a difference in the color of the light, but there was no difference that my eye could detect. Looking at the front of the vehicle, both headlamps looked identical.

I bought them to replace the dull standard headlight bulbs in a Pontiac G6. From an aesthetic point-of-view they look much nicer/whiter than the oem halogen bulbs. This definitely upgraded the appearance of the car at night. However, I bought them with the sole purpose of illuminating my way. Once behind the wheel, I noticed almost no improvement in visibility. The road was definitely whiter, but not necessarily brighter (rhyming not intended). Could just be a bad headlamp design... but who knows.

I'm giving them 3 stars based on aesthetics. I can only HOPE that they last much longer than a regular $8 lightbulb. Note: i did not expect them to be HID bright, but I would contest PIAA's claim of 55w(in) = 110w(out)

2.0 out of 5 stars Caution this is NOT Xtreme White, February 6, 2007
This review is from: PIAA 15211 H11 Style Xtreme White 55=110-Watt Bulb - Twin Pack (Misc.)
I bought it because I thought PIAA is a famous brand. But returned the item right away after finding out that it is no way close to Xtreme White. It says 4000K but but I think it is close to 3600K. Not only that it wasn't powerful enough as well.

H11 is very unique fitting and it is hard to find in local dealers because only few vehicles use it. Like my 2006 4Runner. So you dont have much options. But recently all the big brands have released this fitting which can be easily found on internet (after a few searches).

Finally I bought H11 NOKYA 4500K with high watt output. I am really happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice replacement bulbs, February 23, 2011

I installed these in my 2008 Subaru that was purchased in 2010. I also put these in my 2001 VW in 2002. I like the whiter than stock output of these bulbs. They are not silly blue looking and just a bit whiter than stock.
I do a lot of night driving and the additional brightness and whiter light is appreciated. My distance visibility has improved. No oncoming drivers flash me and these are legal spec bulbs. These don't dazzle/glare other drivers like the non-DOT and illegal extra blue bulbs out there.
I think these are worth the investment.

Purchased these lights for my 2010 Chevy Suburban since the stock lights were terrible. I only bought them because the Silver Star Ultras from Sylvania are not available in H11 size. They are an improvement, but not the ultimate of what I wanted, better nonetheless. PIAA should make a direct comp to the Silver Star Ultras by Sylvania. Sylvania should make an H11 why do they not?

3.0 out of 5 stars Slight brightness, March 6, 2009
This review is from: PIAA 15211 H11 Style Xtreme White 55=110-Watt Bulb - Twin Pack (Misc.)
Just got this today and installed it after work in my 08 Impreza Outback. In daylight, there is no difference with the stock halogens I had. But in a darkened setting you can see only a SMALL difference but at least there is a difference. It's NOT extreme white though. L.E.D bulbs are probably way better. But it does its job of a small upgrade from stock halogens, so a 3 is sufficient.
