5.0 out of 5 stars Great bulbs/the right thing to do!
We have all CFL bulbs in our house. My husband have them every where/never have had a problem. When we got married, we were both in the process of converting both of our houses to the CFL bulbs. So, now we have some left over! Never been used. I keep thinking one will go out or something. But, nothing yet. So, still have extras.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Bulb Built In China
I purchased 10 of these bulbs and exchanged for two additional bulbs after two failed. A total of 4 out of 12 have failed with the first bulb failing within the first 20 minutes of use. None of the failed bulbs lasted more than four hours. This is a 33.3% rate of failure. None of the bulbs were cycled as done with incandescents. The shortest amount of time a bulb was...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Bulb Built In China, March 10, 2008
I purchased 10 of these bulbs and exchanged for two additional bulbs after two failed. A total of 4 out of 12 have failed with the first bulb failing within the first 20 minutes of use. None of the failed bulbs lasted more than four hours. This is a 33.3% rate of failure. None of the bulbs were cycled as done with incandescents. The shortest amount of time a bulb was on is twenty minutes and this was only done once. The longest they were on is four hours.

There is a strong chance that the failure rate can be higher since four of the bulbs are on fixtures that have not been on for more than the initial hour. I have purposely not used these fixtures and now will commit to testing the reliability of these four. From my average, I should see one bulb fail.

Another negative of these bulbs is the humming noise that is emitted and can be heard from a distance of 10 feet. If you are in a relatively noisy area this humming won't be as noticeable.

I do not recommend this GE bulb: 20w 1200 lumens #15516. There is no cost savings if you are having to replace 33.3% of your $4 bulbs.
