I was 12 years old when I received my first Charlie Rich album. I never looked back. Charlie Rich was a great talent that I would have to compare to such people as Elvis. This C.D. is a collection of some of his biggest hits as a country singer. Charlie could sing Jazz, Country, Gospel and of course Rock and Roll. What a powerful voice and I think this collection of songs tells the story. Charlie will be missed by all his fans and hopefully fans to come.

I am not a big Country fan....but I love this man's voice. I remember when I was much younger hearing his songs, especially America The Beautiful and it stuck with me, it seems like forever. What a shame this man passed on without much hoopla. Truly a great American. Thanks Charlie.

All his big hits on one CD. Of course there are many "biggest
or greatest" hits but this one by far is the real best.Most
of the songs were already known by me but the last 3 songs on
this CD was like a blessing. "On my knees, Spanish Eyes and Amazing Grace" are worthwile the purchase of this CD. Add the
rest to it and here we have a wonderful CD. Thanks to this
experience I bought more of these series of "16 biggest hits"
like Tammy Wynette and Charlie Pride.

WOW! EVERY SO OFTEN YOU FIND A CD IN WHICH YOU WILL LOVE EVERY SINGLE SONG...AND THIS IS ONE! NO DOGS AT ALL. THIS CD ALSO HAS ANOTHER THING I LIKE -VARIETY. HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT SOME CD'S HAVE SEVERAL SONGS THAT HAVE DIFFERENT LYRICS...BUT ABOUT THE SAME MELODIES AND BEATS? NOT SO WITH THIS CD!

I CONSIDER CHARLIE RICH TO BE IN THE EXCLUSIVE COMPANY OF PRESLEY, SINATRA, ORBISON, ARNOLD, AND REEVES. HIS VOICE HAS A SIMILARLY INIMITABLE QUALITY -WITH PURITY, PERFECT PITCH, AND IMPRESSIVE OCTAVE RANGE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY HE HAS NOT BEEN AS RENOWNED AS THE ABOVE MENTIONED ARTISTS. CHARLIE RICH IS TRULY A GIFT TO MUSIC. THIS CD IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME AND IS ONE OF THE RARE ONES THAT I CAN PLAY OFTEN WITHOUT GETTING TIRED OF IT.

MOST OF THE SONGS ON THIS CD ARE HIS OWN CREATIONS, BUT CHARLIE DOES GREAT JUSTICE TO THE NON-ORIGINALS LIKE: SINCE I FELL FOR YOU, AMAZING GRACE, AND SPANISH EYES. HOWEVER, HIS VERSION OF AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL IS ONE OF THE BEST THAT ANY SINGER HAS EVER DONE! IN IT, CHARLIE ADDS A VERY CLASSY PREFACE THAT RECOGNIZES AMERICAN MINORITY GROUPS WHO INDEED MAKE UP PART OF OUR BEAUTIFUL AMERICA. THIS GIVES CHARLIE'S VERSION AN EXTRA SPECIAL, WIDE-APPEALING CHARM. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A COUNTRY ALBUM WITH THE FULL TWANG, THEN LOOK ELSEWHERE BECAUSE THIS ONE IS A WONDERFULLY CLASSIC CROSS-OVER!


AS YOU LISTEN TO THIS CD, YOU'LL REALLY NOTICE THAT CHARLIE OBVIOUSLY PUTS A TON OF THOUGHT AND CARE INTO HIS SONGS. THEY HAVE TERRIFIC LYRICS RATHER THAN THE TYPICAL SOPHOMORIC GIBBERISH THAT SO MANY "MUSICIANS" CRANK OUT. ADDITIONALLY, THE VOCAL ACCOMPANIMENTS AND INSTRUMENTAL BACKUPS ARE SUPERB AND ARE MIXED IN AT PERFECT LEVELS SO THAT THEY ARE SWEET, CLEAR, AND DON'T COMPETE WITH THE LYRICS.

THIS CD COMBINES CLASSIC COUNTRY INSTRUMENTS WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL SYMPHONY SOUNDS. I LOVE THAT! IN MY OPINION, THIS EFFECT ADDS SO MUCH MORE INTEREST AND DEPTH...AND HELPS MAKE CHARLIE RICH'S 16 BIGGEST HITS A CD THAT WILL CONNECT WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYONE IN THE WORLD.

FINALLY, I THINK THAT THIS CD IS A GREAT ONE FOR GETTING A COUPLE RELAXED AND "IN THE MOOD." THIS IS PARTLY BECAUSE OF A SWEET SELECTION OF TUNES THAT HAVE APPEAL FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN. BUT MORE, IT'S THAT VOICE! THE "SINATRA MAGIC"...BUT WITH A BIT OF COUNTRY FLARE. SEE IF YOU DON'T AGREE.

This was the first Charlie Rich CD I bought. I listened and was hooked. This CD has great listening songs. I like music all the time and this is one of those CD's I have playing over and over and I never get tired of hearing it. Too bad we lost Charlie. What a gain in heaven got.

I bought this CD because I can't find certain tracks elsewhere. The Charlie Rich catalogue is in a mess - cheap 2-on-1's, rubbish compilations. And these days, we are not always able to listen on speakers - neighbors, kids, police - so we put on the headphones... Lo and behold: the sound quality here is very poor indeed. It's a terrible shame that, 20 years into the digital remastering era, this man's work is still only allowed bargain bin status. Someone please get to work on the late 60's - mid 70's recordings of Charlie Rich. This stuff was recorded in the best studios by the best producers and musicians - so why does it sound so bad? And before someone starts burbling about free downloads... they're sourced from the same rubbish sounding CD's...

Where else can you complain? Does anyone with the power to rectify such problems read these reviews? This disc has some of CR's best songs on it, hence the 3 stars. Charlie Rich - some of us love you and care about the music very much.

Every track is a winner and of course songs like A Very Special Love Song and Rollin' With the Flow are classics . Just such an easy listen .
If you like Charlie Rich every good song of his is represented.

Had not listened to Charlie Rich in years but have really enjoyed this CD. Rich has stood the test of time.

I got into Charlie Rich when I first heard "A Very Special Love Song" and bought his Super Hits, but this is a much better collection. Granted he wasn't very country, but he has a great voice.
