DOLLY PARTON-16 BIGGEST HITS: JOHNNY CARSON jokes aside, Locust Ridge, Tennessee's most famous citizen DOLLY PARTON carved out an impressive country career (with occasional crossovers to the pop charts), first as a singing partner for PORTER WAGONER and more famously, as a charismatic, chirpy voiced songbird who wrote all but a small handful of her biggest hits. From early successes such as the "other woman" saga JOLENE and her warm WAGONER tribute I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU on through workin' woman ode 9 TO 5 and the BEE GEES-penned KENNY ROGERS duet ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, PARTON has always exuded flash and energy kept in check by her stylish homespun delivery. Two of her final chart toppers, the high spirited WHY'D YOU COME IN HERE LOOKIN' LIKE THAT and the tender RICKY VAN SHELTON team up ROCKIN' YEARS proved she'd lost not a step in over two decades. During a career that's encompassed TV, film and her own theme park, DOLLY PARTON has never been afraid to poke fun at herself ("It costs a lot to look this cheap!")...perhaps explaining why she's always managed to get the last laugh.

RATING: FOUR BLONDE WIGS

If you like Dolly you have to have this, it is Great. I have played it so much I think I need a new one. The selection of songs is very good, from fast moving to her slower ones. I highly recommend this CD.

My grandchildren and I love to listen to Dolly, in the car, and they sing along with her beautiful voice. She is a national treasure!

My son is mentally challenged due to head trauma about 35 years ago. He has a radio and cd player. He is able to listen to his cd's and manages his own player. If this makes him happy then I am plesed

I have liked some Dolly Parton songs for years but didn't buy them because of the financial concerns that come from living on a fixed income. This CD is well worth the money and I have enjoyed it very much.

Dolly has a voice that is different but in a very good way.the softness of butter and the sweetness of cream.she has a way of experiencing the story of the music.to feel the songs is the best way to be the largest that last forever.

It's okay for a REAL Dolly Parton and Country loving person. Some very nice photos of her on the inside jacket.
