Don't Buy This CD,
By A Customer
This review is from: 16 Biggest Hits (Audio CD)
Shame on Columbia/Legacy for misleading their customers. I've been a Ray Price fan for years; long have I waited for a CD version of Price's "I'd Rather Be Sorry". How disappointing it was to find that the one included here is either an utterly inept remix of the original, or it is an alternative mix (selected for reasons devoid of logic). The wonderful steel guitar entrance in the second verse of the original has been rendered virtually inaudible here. And, as if that weren't bad enough, the second verse to Danny Boy has not merely been completely edited out; it's been "hacked off" in the most lamely conspicuous way.I haven't waited all this time for this kind of disappointment. I own the original LPs. I know what these tracks sound like. Stop taking liberties with classics Columbia/Legacy! Give us the REAL thing!

Does not do justice to Ray Price,
This review is from: 16 Biggest Hits (Audio CD)
This CD just doesn't have the quality it should. Some of the songs have had the lyrics cut out or removed such as Danny Boy. I have the Cassette and it was great but this just doesn't do justice to Ray Price or his songs.

The quality is not there and as said in previous review, do not try to "chop up" a classic. For someone who wants a wonderful Ray Price assortment, true to the LP arrangements but on CD, you might consider a 3 disc collection from: www.timelessmusic.com which is a lot more Ray Price for the same money. It is a Sony product and has chrystal clear sound. I have been a Ray Price fan since "Night Life" and this album is not up to his standards. That is just my opinion.

Once again, an album offers a stroll down AM radio lane. The overall fidelity of these recordings isn't bad considering their age.
The country music fans love this CD... there's an innocence of years gone by here. Many of these songs haven't been heard since they slipped off the charts long ago. We have resurrected them at the shows to a full dance floor. If you enjoy Ray Price's music, this is a nice collection. We recommend it. I hope it helps.

Good old country!,

This CD was a joy to hear after so many years! All 16 of the great songs that made Ray Price famous. I loved hearing these songs again as only Ray Price could sing them: Crazy Arms; One More Time; Make the World Go Away; For the Good Times; I Won't Mention It Again; and You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me. In addition, Ray's version of Danny Boy is the finest I'd ever heard.
I enjoyed this so much, and will listen to it again and again. Thanks for the memories!

Ray Price 16 Great ones,

A very good assembly of Ray's early hits and his popular cross-over hits.
A couple of the tracks come across slightly muted making for volume adjustments as you listen, but all in all a good addition to any music lovers collection

I had forgotten about Ray Price and the one song I loved that he sang, FOR THE GOOD TIMES. The CD starts out typically country then it turns a little more contemporary starting with FOR THE GOOD TIMES. It's a good CD to add to your country music collection.

Ray Price is an alltime favorite of mine, his country music IS COUNTRY. The country music of today is more rock than anything. Ray has a unique voice and his style of music brings people to the dance floor in every Honky Tonk in Texas!

I went to see Ray Price in concert once and this CD brings back the thrill of that night. I bought it because "You're the best thing that ever happend to me" is on it. I spent years looking for an album or a cassette tape or a CD with this song!
