Packed with heart, power, and frustration. Awesome!,

Slapshot fans that think the band went downhill after "Sudden Death OT" should definitely check this album out. The music is fast, aggressive, and mean. The production is killer but raw. Just like a Slappy album should be. Every track is high test, fuel injected, muscle pounding old school hardcore. Not as "oi!" as "step on it", but just as like-able. Mark McKay (drummer from first few albums) is back on this one and it shows. Jack Kelly's vocals are filled to the brim with tons of heart, pain, and hate. (Is this guy OK?) Guitars and are loud :) and the Bass pummles you. :) I Definitely dig it. "16VH" and "step on it" are my definite favs...

I have read way too many interviews from people who are juxtaposing new hardcore against "old school stuff." Well, I'm willing to give credit where credit is due, despite being a great fan of "old school" Boston bands like Jerry's Kids, SSD, DYS, the F.U.'s, etc. This CD rips! Very raw and very powerful. They even manage to take a softball song like The Smith's "Bigmouth Strikes Again" and hardcore the H-E-double hockey sticks out of it. You should buy it to get a complete picture of the Boston scene from over the last 20 years.

It is good to see this CD is still around. A great rave up from the guys that still hold true to their roots, in a day and age where bands with no heart and prissy little tunes claiming to be hardcore dominate the scene. I remeber seeing these guys at the Channel (R.I.P), T.T.'s and the Bears (R.I.P.), The Paradise (R.I.P.), and The Axis (R.I.P.) just some of the old school hardcore haunts in Boston. So for a look into Boston's music scene from the last fifteen years check them out along with DYS, EYE FOR AN EYE, and SSD.
