This review is from: 1600mAh Extended Battery (Slim) fits HTC TyTN II / ATT Tilt 8925 / P4550 Kaiser (Electronics)
I have been using this battery for almost a week now and I must say I am surprised by it. This extended battery is rated @ 1600mAh and stock @ 1340mAh so I didn't think I would see that much improvement! Following services/programs are on all the times on my phone: Bluetooth, WiFi, IM+ program and E-mail set to check every 15 mins. I also talk a lot and use Calendar and Tasks program throughout the day. BTW, I turned off 3G on my phone because 3G will drain battery a lot faster! I do this on all my previous 3G phones.
With OEM battery, I am barely getting 1 day out of it but with this extended battery, I get about 1.5 day..may be 2 days of usage out of it. I know there are extended battery out there with over 2000 mAh and those will probably give about 3-4 days of usage but they also require extended battery door so going to make the phone bulkier than it already is! This battery is good replacement if you want a little more usage and still use OEM phone battery door!

Disappointed,
This review is from: 1600mAh Extended Battery (Slim) fits HTC TyTN II / ATT Tilt 8925 / P4550 Kaiser (Electronics)
I should start with a few informative statements here. I'm not just trying to be critical -- I had really hoped this battery would give me some improvement. Also, the battery I got was sold by Thebatterycenter, so batteries like this from other sellers might be just fine; I don't know.
My first impressions of this battery were mixed. It came in outdated packaging that referred to it as a camcorder battery! But the sticker on the battery itself said Replacement for TYTN II, so no problem. It also said 1600mAh, so I knew I had the right one. Excitedly, I placed the battery in my phone and turned it on. Charged at about 40%...reasonable enough. Plugged it in to start charging fully, and everything was fine. But within about half an hour, the light changed from amber to green, and the phone said 100% already. I thought it was a little strange, and sure enough when I unplugged it from the wall, ZAP -- it shut off. I messed with it for quite a while trying to figure it out, but in the long run I discovered that the battery's metal contacts were getting pushed in too far until the prongs of the phone couldn't even reach them. To make the battery work again, I actually had to peel back the stickers encasing the battery (DON'T try this at home... :D ) and insert two thirds of a toothpick behind the contacts to hold them in place. Needless to say, my battery was cheaply made and I was quite annoyed. But I made it work anyway! Now, for the actual statistics. I wanted to see how this higher capacity would stack up against the stock battery. So I fully charged each one, and then turned on Wi-fi and started streaming NASA TV online in Windows Media Player. The idea was to do a quick and dirty test that would drain them as quickly as possible, so you'll get a lot more time out of your battery for daily usage than I did here. Run times while streaming online video: 1600mAh replacement: 2 hrs, 38 mins 1350mAh stock from AT&T: 3 hrs, 10 mins That means this "extended" battery actually gave me 17% LESS time than the original! Both batteries are Li-ion Polymer at 3.7V DC, so with 250mAh more I really can't understand why the new one performs so poorly. Especially since my stock battery is now 8 months old and doesn't last quite as long as it used to. And I've taken this new one through at least 3 charge/discharge cycles, so that shouldn't be the problem either. On the positive side though, this battery definitely does fit inside the standard phone casing. It's actually a little thinner than the original, and perhaps even a bit lighter too. You can find other extended batteries that really would give you huge battery life, but they would make the phone incredibly fat. So I was glad to find one in the slim form factor. Overall though, my experience with this product has definitely been disappointing. It's not a complete loss, since now I do have two batteries instead of one. But I really was looking forward to longer daily usage, and it doesn't look like this battery is going to help with that. So do your research carefully, and just know what you're getting.

Weaker than old battery I bought it to replace,

Quick review. Pretty heavy user of email, occasional web browsing using skyfire (heavy battery drain) bluetooth for phone. I try to manage power drain by turning off BT and 3G when I can. Old 1350 mAh battery was almost dead, on a typical day after about 12 hours of use. New "larger capacity" battery can not even make it 7 hours. After a week of trying to condition the battery (although I have read that these batteries cannot be conditioned I thought I would give it a try) but no improvement. It is going back

This 1600mAh battery was purchased to replace the 1300mAh that came with my ATT TILT cell phone. this replacement does not have the capacity of the orignal and discharges much faster. When I complained they sent me a list of things to do "to get better performance". The standard advice re fully charging the Battery before use and 12 hour charges, etc. The orignal ATT batery would fully charge in 4 hours. I will follow their advice to the 'T' for a week and see if it gets better. Very doubtful given the Lion technology. Will return it if it does not match the performance of the original "smaller" battery.

mislabeled battery,

I had the same problems with this battery that others did. It is NOT 1600mAh, despite its label saying so. It weighs much less than the original battery, which is a good indication that it has less capacity. My guess is that it is actually a 1100mAh battery in disguise.
Stay away.

Works, charging time is on par with the OEM battery. The life of this battery never seemed any better than my OEM battery, but it was cheap enough that I didn't care. A great backup or spare battery.

Fits Standard Battery Door, Horribly Battery Life,

Yeah, it fits just like the standard battery does, but the battery life is awful. I deplete around 40% of the battery life with 30 minutes of listening to audio (not streaming, this is stored audio). I used to recharge my phone only at night, but with this battery I need to find an outlet 2 to 3 times a day just to keep it alive.
Awful battery. Nowhere near the rated storage capacity.

This battery is somewhat more powerfull then the original. 1600 is 300 Mah more. That just helps me till the evening with the use of internet and audio.

This battery gives you a little more standby and talk time. I didn't compare the actual time between the original battery and this one but I can tell the difference from using it. Not bad for the price.

Not Worth it,
This review is from: 1600mAh Extended Battery (Slim) fits HTC TyTN II / ATT Tilt 8925 / P4550 Kaiser (Electronics)
This battery is actually worst than the original...it takes longer to charge, and as far as I am concern, I noticed ZERO improvement in life. You might as well buy an OEM battery, which charges faster (if you don't want an oversized extended one). This battery shouldn't be called extended. Very disappointed...I expected arround half day extra life, but it's same as the original battery, if not less!!!
