4.0 out of 5 stars Napkins
Perfect match with the tablecloths. A couple of the napkins had flaws or I would have given 5 stars.

Having read the previous reviews about the quality of this product, I wasn't really holding my breath when they arrived. First thought was, you truly get what you pay for. Second thought: it's not too bad! Sure the edge could be a bit more refined (proper folded edge, rather than just a overlock/serge-stitched edge), but for the price, these napkins will stand up to everyday use, or for those casual parties. In fact, I used them for a friend's Bridal Shower and it "classed up" our event despite using all disposable cutlery and plates.

There were some "unclean" edges (they seemed to have "fused" with another napkin) but I just trimmed the excess thread off and used a lighter to melt/seal the remaining thread. The fix wasn't visible, thanks to this dark eggplant colour, but I would suggest using an iron to fix any edges, if your ordered napkin is from the light-coloured variety.

The texture is also a bit on the "ok" side because of the material (polyester - no 400-thread-count napkins here) but it's nothing that one hasn't experienced before. The feel of these napkins reminded me of the ones used in some Chinese sit-down restaurants. This also means that you're limited to the style of fold you can do. I can use the "Pyramid Napkin Fold" (pictured) and but at the Bridal Shower, I did basic napkin ring stuffer (with ribbons for actual napkin rings). More complex folds like a bishop's hat, bird of paradise, etc. would probably require the use of starch and an iron.

The colour is close to as pictured, albeit slightly lighter in shade -- because of computer monitor differences, I went by the actual "photos" posted (found on the vendor's website), rather than the professionally pictured one.

Overall, I received the product within a reasonable amount of time (i.e., arrived before my event!) and have washed it four times since and they all seem to be holding up pretty well. They're definitely not for those black-tie dinner parties, but if you can afford to host those, I suspect you wouldn't be shopping on Amazon.com for napkins. ;)

I wish they were cotton.......They are pretty, they match the tablecloth, but not absorbent at all. Definitely not working well with finger food.

1.0 out of 5 stars cheap looking and slippery, May 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Could never be used for a napkin; the fabric is shiny and slippery.
No hem, just machine bound around the edges...very cheap looking. Just used
them for a splash of color (color is nice and rich) on serving tables--again,
couldn't be used for a napkin.

I was looking for something purple to put under our centerpieces for our upcoming wedding. I really wanted a deep deep purple. This one is very dark, but has tones of red in it (if that makes sense). We're still going to use them - cutting/designing paper would be a PITA, and these were pretty inexpensive.

I will probably use a few for dining, but most of them for crafting when we're done.

5.0 out of 5 stars White Dinner Napkins, December 19, 2011

Napkins took a little longer than I would of liked, but my friend received them in time for Thanksgiving Day. She said they're good quality and will be useful for many holiday dinners to come.

2.0 out of 5 stars Badly cut, December 18, 2011
By
After I opened the package and pulled out the first few napkins, I noticed they were imperfectly cut. The sides weren't straight and when I tried to form them into fancy napkin folds, the sides didn't meet or lay properly. The sides are serged together, so the napkin won't unravel and hopefully after they're hemmed, they will have equally straight sides and will meet and lay properly. I probably won't buy napkins from this company again.

5.0 out of 5 stars My wedding is almost here!!!!!, October 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am so glad that I decided to order this item for my wedding. I purchased 72 black napkins and see only a few flaws nothing that major, for the price overall nothing to complain about, almost perfect. Why rent something when you can buy it for the same amount and just sale at a discount. 10-13-11
