i've had a couple different book lights before, and they never lasted long, changing batteries and light bulbs become a hassle. that is one of the reasons i really like this book light. the light i may never have to change, and LED last a very long time. i haven't had it long enough to be sure how long the battery will last. one thing about this light that im not all that impressed with is the clip... its not the strongest in the world, especially clipping it to a paperback book. but it works well... its small and compact, and easily adjustable... and the clip is clear so you can read right through it, unlike other book lights i've had.

GREAT Book Light!!!,
This review is from: GE 17205 LED Book Light, Clip-On Battery Operated, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is the BEST little book light I've ever owned. It weighs next to nothing, does not tear the pages of the book, and is small enough (approximately credit card size, though somewhat thicker). I use it at home, work, and especially while traveling. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

The light is uneven and only covers one page so that you have to keep moving it from one side of your book to the other. However, it is small and lightweight.

The 'BEST' Kindle 2 light!,
This review is from: GE 17205 LED Book Light, Clip-On Battery Operated, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've had this light around for a while, then I bought a Kindle2. This light fits perfectly between the case I bought and the back of the Kindle, making a very attractive pair. While the battery life isn't stellar, It does use CR2032 lithium cells, which are very-very-very inexpensive (Cheaper than both AA's and AAA's). You could purchase 25 of these batteries for under $10. With all the wrangling for a book light that fits well with the Kindle, I think people have overlooked this little gem.

not one of the better designs,
This review is from: GE 17205 LED Book Light, Clip-On Battery Operated, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I read in bed at night while my spouse watches TV. The bedside lamp is too low to provide enough light to read comfortably so I bought one of these. As you change pages you must remove the light and place it on the side of the book you are reading - very annoying, especially if you read quickly or would like to without having to switch the light again. I own many hardcover books and this light does not do a very good job of lighting the bottom half of a full size book. I am going to try a flexible neck type next so I can read at a normal speed without interuptions to move the light. I hope that the flex neck can be moved with a touch of the fingers to provide light where it is needed.

Not bright enough,
This review is from: GE 17205 LED Book Light, Clip-On Battery Operated, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this a couple of years ago. At first it seemed nice and bright, but after the first several hours of use, the light started to dim, it kept getting dimmer and dimmer until I couldn't read by it at all. Even if it's just a dying battery, I don't care, I'm not putting in a new lithium battery every few hours. Even at it's brightest, the light only covers one pace and doesn't get the corners, you end up unclipping the light and holding it up like a flash light so you can read. The back cover that holds the battery falls off every time the light takes the slightest hit. Seriously, if you set it down on the table a bit too rough, the cover falls off, the battery pops out and you end up on your hands and knees with a flash light trying to find it under a piece of furniture. This book light is cheap, that's about all I can say for it.

I use this for my Nook (e-reader) and it is perfect - lightweight, easy to store in case with Nook and shines perfectly on the page.

I looooove this light. It's absolutely MADE for e-readers. I tuck it between the case and the nook and it fits well. My only complaint? It's a bit flimsy and sometimes pops on.

I love the size of this book light but it's just not bright enough to light up the entire page, especially on larger size books

Short battery life, uneven lighting, no auto-shutoff, weak clip,
By
This review is from: GE 17205 LED Book Light, Clip-On Battery Operated, Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this light at a grocery store a couple years ago. I found the light to be over-focused (a problem with LEDs, I believe) and, after a short period of time, too weak for acceptable use in dark rooms. The weak light may be the result of the relatively short battery life and the fact that the light will not automatically shut itself off if it's been on for a long time (and you've fallen asleep). Further, sometimes it would not close completely and I'd come back to it to find it'd been on for some time in its folded configuration. The last comment I'll make is that the hinge for the clip became loose and I found I had to rest the light on my chest and point it up at the book (when I was reading in bed) because it would just fold down if I mounted it on top of the book.
