While it is not rough enough harm bare feet, I am not sure how long it will last.

Several female friends had slipped on their behinds on my very slippery patio stairs so I put a strip of this tape on each step and now we finally have grip!
Andre
Plus, while it sticks well to the surface, it's not like superglue so you can peel it off fairly easily to relocate it.

I bought this to put on the bottoms of my shoes that needed some grip. A full roll of tape was much cheaper than a package of 2 grips. I just cut the length I needed and stuck it on. It was a little too grippy at first, so I just rubbed the soles against each other for a bit until they sanded down. This stuff is basically adhesive sandpaper.

i ordered this tape for the wood stairs inside my home because im pregnant and always found the steps to bit a bit slippery and dangerous...

you only need around 1 foot of tape per stair (just center the tape on each stair)...
the adhesive is very strong and i feel alot more confident going down the stairs now!

also- i was worried about lint building up on them because of my socks- that hasnt been a problem! the traction is strong but wont cut your feet open!

I bought this for the wooden steps in my house. When it rains and you go up or down them, you can slip. My husband and I put it on the edge of the steps and it stops the slipping greatly. And it doesn't look bad either. Also, when I walk barefoot or with just socks on the steps, it doesn't hurt and it doesn't mess up my socks. Good product. I've had it for over 6 months and it hasn't started peeling or anything.

I don't know if perhaps the roll of tape that I was sent was just old or what, but the end result is that for the half dozen projects that I applied this tape, in almost every case the tape fell off after a day or two of use. I don't know what situation this tape would be useful for because of the weak state of the adhesive which doesn't provide a useful bond for any situation that I used them for with one exception: I cut little tiny strips and stuck them to the underside of leather fringe on a pair of Scottish style shoes and it has lasted there, but only because there is never actually any friction or wear applied, it just holds together the fringe strips so they don't separate. Yet this project was only a secondary use, the main use that I bought this for was use on stairs to increase friction to make them safer, but every bit I used came off in a matter of only a few days which was really annoying. I recommend looking elsewhere for friction tape if you intend on using it on walkways or stairs or anything like that as the adhesive is ridiculously weak.

This is excellent Non-Slip Tape. Applies easily and has really good adhesive. Note that 8 feet doesn't go very far. It is very easy on bare feet and won't tear up socks, but has great grip for shoes.

This was much better then a roll that I purchased from a big box store.

Pros:
Good adhesive
Excellent Grip, won't hurt bare feet

Cons:
Not very long (8ft), order 2!

I really like this tape: it is non slippery and easy to install (I put it on the stairs in my house because I'm clumsy and already fell the stairs when the tape wasn't there). There is one 'but': it is 2 inches short of being 8 feet, so after I decided to divide it into 4 pieces 2 feet each, one of pieces was 2" short, so I wasn't able to use that piece.

I had a slightly different application for this than most of the other reviewers. I have hardwood floors throughout my home and I have been doing Shaun T Insanity workouts in my basement. This causes a large amount of sweat to end up on the floor in a small space, making slipping and falling a real concern. So, I bought this tape and put it down in strategic places to give myself some assurance that I wouldn't end up cracking my head while doing a jumping jack. The top of the tape has the consistency of sandpaper and will stop and you from slipping even if the floor is wet. On the other side, the adhesive is very strong and this tape will stay put even in high traffic areas. However, I did test it out and you CAN pull it up after the fact without leaving any marks if you have a putty knife - it's just a matter of getting under a corner of the tape.

Also, I know the item is clearly labeled, but as other posters have noted, 8 feet is shorter than you think and you might want to pick up two if you have more than a small area (i.e. front steps) to cover. Overall, this was a good value and works as advertised.

This tape is good at what it does. I put it on my stairs leading to the basement, which the previous owner had dubiously finished with some kind laminate wood that is extremely slippery. Just put a strip on the lip of each step, and it works great. I feel more confident in my footing going down the steps. It's not too rough, although going barefoot might be pushing it. Plus, while it sticks well to the surface, it's not like superglue so you can peel it off fairly easily to relocate it. Definitely recommend it.
