GE 17421 LED Battery Operated Plastic Motion Sensing Light

I got this at a local store to go by the front door to get a little illumination for when we come home and some one forgot to leave the front porch light on.

Pros:
doesn't turn on unless you move or wave within a couple inches of the sensor to turn it on. The red area on the face is the sensor.
No switches or buttons to hit to turn it on at night
BRIGHT light
2 level lighting

Cons: if for some reason you forget to wave again to turn it off it'll be on for 45 minutes. There should be a switch added for this unit to stay on for lesser time.

That's about my biggest gripe, who needs an LED light on for 45 minutes... I would think by that time you or someone would have been able to find a switch to turn on another light. After a couple rounds of 45 minutes of lighting these batteries will be dead so it's a waste to have something like this stay on for that long. 15-20 minutes is more than enough.

I was going to mount a second light in the porch that is motion activated but just haven't gotten around to it. I might do that this winter seeing as I can stand to be in the attic and run a couple wires through to the front porch for another light just for this very need. Would make things a lot easier in the long run.

The LED light is nice and bright in the manuel mode but the motion sensor is unreliable. Sometimes it comes on; sometimes it doesn't. I am returning mine for a refund--it's not worth the trouble. The little switch is too small to use on a regular basis.

you gotta get within a foot for the sensor to trigger the light, the light is really bright but not good for outdoor security. inside closet or kitchen yeah.
