1.0 out of 5 stars Burned out after two months, December 3, 2009
This review is from: GE 17986 100-Watt 1500-Lumen PAR38 Halogen Flood Light Bulb, 1-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I installed two of these bulbs in an outdoor motion-sensing fixture and set the timer to about 5 minutes of on-time. So actual time illuminated was almost nothing. One of these bulbs burned out after two months. Probably not more than 30 minutes of on-time, not the 2,000 hours promised. Bulbs from another manufacturer, Philips, installed in a similar outdoor motion-sensing fixture have continued to work after many years.

I have also had the few other GE bulbs I have installed burn out prematurely as well. Those likewise had limited use and burned out prematurely, usually before six months. I will not buy any more GE brand light bulbs. The problem with them seems to be endemic.
