5.0 out of 5 stars best qigong available
this is hands-down the BEST qigong I've ever practiced, and I've practiced a lot (tai chi, xingyi, baguazhang, iron shirt, wing tsun etc.)

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Could Be Even Better
Right off the bat, I want to say I loved this book. The text is informative, helpful, and has a lot for the reader to absorb. The author's knowlege of Qi Gong and the I Jing is evident from the start.

However, when it comes to the Qi Gong photographs, a bit more info would have helped. There are no transitional photos or directional arrows. It's not...

It's not neceserily a bad thing, and there IS text to explain the movement. However, for a visual person like myself, it is still difficult to follow.

That aside, the book is a wonderful addition to the collection of any serious Qi Gong practitioner, and helps establish a clear correlation between the various Qi Gong postures, and their significance/effects from an I Jing perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for students of Buddhism, Qigong, I Ching, September 7, 2000
This review is from: 18 Buddha Hands Qigong (Paperback)
Buddhism, Qigong, the I Ching, and Chinese medicine have been integrally linked together for centuries. All these systems originate from a common theoretical view of reality and compliment, clarify, support, and occasionally challenge each other. Larry Johnson's 18 Buddha Hands Qigong examines Qigong in general, and the energetic transformations possible through these practices, exploring what is referred to as 18 Buddha Hands presents an intriguing perspective of the Yin/Yang mechanics of Qigong, within the manifold framework of the Medical I Ching. 18 Buddha Hands Qigong is highly recommended for students of Buddhism, Qigong, the I Ching, personal health from the perspective of Chinese medical practice and theory.
