I think is a great toy for your inner child (if you grew up with the show). I have no complains overall; however, some people might be bothered by some small details which I'll mention FYI. 1) the doors' handles don't match 2) the doors are hard to open (i haven't open them because i'm afraid they will break) 3) It's based on the movie not on the tv show, in fact, the box has a picture of Jessica Simpson and those two other guys. She's cute but those two other guys made me trow away the box altogether. Anyway, I am not really complaining, I'm very happy with it, it looks great, just thought people buying it should know these things beforehand. I do recommend it though.

Almost Authentic . . .,

I purchased this for my 16 year old step-son who is a car collector. It is almost authentic except 1) the doors are glued on and do not open, 2) Gears are different than car on show and 3) one of the tires hubcaps is different/wrong from the other three which are correct.

non-opening doors,

I've had this model for quite a long time but was looking on amazon to replace it due to my nephew breaking off the windshield wipers years ago. There were only two gripes I ever had with it. One I think is unique to mine: generic license plate. The General Lee's license plate is a Georgia plate and is "CNH-320". Mine has florida plates. My other complaint is consistant on all General Lee models. The "01" is too small on the doors. You'd have to be a die-hard fan to notice, but since I am, I did. The "01" on either door is much bigger on the show. One could also nitpick that no General Lee model has a cb antanna on the back.As for the people who keep complaining that the doors don't open: Its the General Lee. The doors aren't supposed to open. On the show, they were welded shut for racing safety. Remember Bo and Luke climbing in and out of the windows? This also stands alone as the first General Lee model to have a black grill like its supposed to, rather than silver to make it look like a toy.
