Field was not just a composer but a fantastic player & piano expert. His music is expertly written, theory-wise, due to talent, & true immersion in the "Clementi method". I recommend this edition to all pianists who like soulful challenging music.
The piece numbers don't match those of some other editions. Seems like Field wasn't very tidy with his works & his notated legacy. A shame.

Hard to find better music for the intermediate pianist. Field's Nocturnes are a predecessor to Chopin's (~20 yrs.) Unpretentious, beautiful music.
