Works great. Before I replaced the faulty stove-top, we used this, an electric wok, and a 2-burner radiant cook top...

Well, I always feel bad writing a bad review. I bought three of these for our kitchen, and we have used them for about three months. The following are observations:

1. One of the units works part of the time, and heats very unevenly.
2. All of the units now have periods where they don't heat up well. This may be due to our power supply, but our other cooking surfaces don't do this.
3. WORST OF ALL!-- the whole thing is flat, and the controls are plastic covered. The control panel is MELTING and separating from the heating surface as the pans accidentally move too far forward and melt the plastic on the forward end. Most recently, the plastic started pulling up from the controls all together. Who came up with that design!!! BAD IDEA!

It is one of the best things I have purchased. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get know the heat settings. But have cooked thing on it that splatters oil on it was curios how it would do If I placed a paper towel over cook top then cast iron frying pan on top it worked fine. ( would not recommend this because it could be a fire hazard.) after cooking two steaks removed pan paper towel had a very lite brown scorch in middle. Used same towel to wipe out pan and cook top. You can cook pancakes and put heat on 140 Degrees to keep warm till ready to eat. Also great for melting chocolate mix in some butter then pour over Ice cream to make a hard shell sundae. It is worth the money just to have fun with but I use it for most of my cooking now.

The biggest caution to consider with this product and other similarly designed cooktops, is to be aware that the top surface and the control panel are on the same level. I accidently touched the plastic that covers the control panel, with a large hot pan/pancake griddle. It melted and became a hole. Even with repair tape, the damage allowed cooking and cleaning liquids to seep into the power display over the following months. Damaged area continues to peal and looks tacky from replacing the repair tape. Unit continues to function, but the first digit of power display stopped working. Reliability has been good for almost 2 years, even with damage. Small induction pots/pans of 6" or less may not trip sensor to activate heating.

Great unit! I purchased one prior to Thanksgiving, and liked enough to buy another after Christmas. I am a "Foodie", not a Chef, But I was Chef-trained in my youth. This is the best heat source I have ever used, including commercial gas stoves. It boils several quarts of water in under 5 minutes.

Actually, that relates to my only problem with this unit-it it TOO efficient. When I use the number settings (as opposed to the temperature settings), the lowest setting (#1) is still too hot for a "low: equivalent on a gas stove. This can be addressed by using the temperature settings, however.

Compact, efficient, cleans up nicely, no visible wear on wither unit after several months of use.

Works great, just as promised. The 10 different heating levels allow for great control of temperature, and the different temperature readings are very convenient to use.

The only complaint I have against this cooktop is the control display - using a large pot that overhangs the surface a bit can cause the plastic labeling to melt off. The performance of the cooktop is not compromised though, so it doesn't affect much of the quality. A receded control panel would prevent this problem.

Another issue that may be a bother is the noise emitted from the induction cooktop. This is not much of a concern to me, but a it does emit a high pitched buzzing sound.

Overall, great product. Definitely worth the purchase.

This is my first induction cooktop, so it took a bit of time for me to get used to the various settings. But now I just love it. I love the fact that it has a timer so you can set it to click off automatically. Anything that spills on it can be easily cleaned up with a paper towel or sponge, even while you're cooking. That is, the cooktop where it's not in contact with the cookware is not hot! It's pretty amazing. It heats up and cools down amazingly quickly. It looks nice, it has good safety features, and I'm very happy with it. It was delivered promptly. (Note: Be sure before you buy any induction cooktop that you understand cookware to be used on it must be ferrous -- iron or steel -- or it will not work.)

While my kitchen is being remodeled over the next several months, I thought my only cooking option would be the micro or a hot plate. Happily I happened upon this induction cooktop. Over the past six weeks it has very quickly boiled, peacefully simmered, perfectly sauteed, etc. my only word of caution would be in regard to purchasing "induction-ready" cookware. Those saucepans don't always work. After a couple of unfortunate choices, I took a chance and just went ahead and purchased the Farberware Classic two-quart pan. (See my review of that item.) the Farberware pan works PERFECTLY and quickly, even though not described as induction-ready. Two very happy finds which work very well together.

I saw this at a japanese shabu shabu restaurant.
I thought it was pretty neat. My husband always wants shabu shabu cause he can take more vegetables than other food. We usually use the portable propane gas stove for out home shabu shabu time but it is quite dangerous for the kids and adults as well. I decided to find something like the one i saw at the restaurant and i founf exactly same product at Amazon. I bought two incase we are having guests over. It is very nice made well. You can control the temperature and cook time.
My mom liked it ans took one of ours.
I use this at out balcony when i cook something that has strong smell that can stay in our house for days.

Great cooktop. It works best with boiling/reheating with liquids (soups, stews) as it is much faster than gas. Best of all, I have cooked steel cut oatmeal and porridge with it, and NO stirring needed, NO burning!!! I can just set it on timer and walk away. I have deep fried on it, but the temperature control does not work so well, so I set it to 460, monitored the temperature with a digital probe to ensure that it can keep up with the food and maintain temperature at 360. I also love that I can stop the cooking INSTANTLY when I turn it off (with my electric or gas stove, I have to remove the pot from the burner to prevent overcook). All in all, I absolutely love it!!!
