Works as expected, I used it to seal cracks around windows to keep out our annual ladybug infestation. Dries very clear with the slightest sheen when seen against the light, but not usually noticeable.

I built and live in a log home. Up until I discovered this stuff, I was paying $29.00 a pop for a big tube of log chinking. At $4.00+ for a small tube, you can't beat the value. I've been using it for a couple of years, and I have no complaints whatsover, outdoors and in, it holds up just as well as the expensive stuff. Maybe better.

I bought this to seal up some cracks around my exterior windows and some of the siding. It has already started to crack, and shrink. Most of the caulk I used (2 months ago), basically needs to be recaulked. I wouldn't recommend it for exterior use. Maybe for interior that isn't exposed to weather.

I purchased this for use with my black granite vanity tops. The tube I received was full of bubbles and continued to flow out of the nozzle long after I released all tension on the caulking gun. Also, product is thinner than I expected, more a dark grey than black and has a very flat finish, much like grout/mortar. It does seem to be holding up but time will tell. Kind of suprised by poor product quality from such a big name.

Works great... just like caulk should. Price was decent, cheaper than running to the store to get it. Thanks Dap!

I bought this to blend in with some spaces in between our wood flooring and the wall. It worked better than anything else we tried. It at least covered the spaces and didn't stand out as much as the white did.

I buy this stuff from Walmart for 2 dollars a tube. It makes great cheap painters caulk. It tools well and dries fast. I don't use it on problem cracks or in areas that it wont be painted over. If I anticipate that a crack will expand or have any movement in the future I use a better latex caulk like Alex Ultra 230, Dynoflex 230, or Sashco Big Stretch. If the joint needs to be water proof, never fail and I don't need too pretty of a bead I use Lexel. It's a pain to use and clean up though.

In summary Alex Plus is the best deal for cheap caulk. Anything cheaper isn't worth the tube it's in and will crack in the future. Any caulk that's better cost over twice as much and in some cases over 5 times as much.

There had been some really cold weather that was well below freezing in the area. Most of the 10 year old caulking was either cracking or barely there. I found a really bad caulking job that must have been done by previous people who lived here where they simply applied old caulk right over the new one. It was that nice silicon based ones meant for the bathroom. Basically had to redo that whole entire job.

Well it has been just over 3 months since I put this down and it hasn't cracked yet. Being cheap I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but it gets the job down. I haven't tried this on exterior yet I wouldn't think it would hold for long. For now this has had a really dramatic effect on temperatures indoors. Noticed at least a degree cooler in the hot spring weather. Would have to wait for the winter weather and see how it does. You do not want to apply this when it is below 40.

I'll update this if anything new happens but bottom line is that it is cheap and can help fix those old cracking caulk. I'd get something different if using for outdoors.
