This review is from: 1867: How the Fathers Made a Deal (Hardcover)
A fine volume that, while sometimes exploring the depths of issues, moved along at a good pace and held my attention throughout. I appreciated that Mr. Moore generally assumed the best about the characters' intentions, regardless of their politics. His profiles of the characters were interesting and gave helpful context to their actions. As well, he does an excellent job of detailing the consequences through time of several individual actions and decisions. His citations of other authors' works often took a condescending tone, but were very illustrative of his points. I very much enjoyed this book.
