Book Description

September 17, 2009
Kamikaze and Killa are cousins, from the inner city streets of Durham, North Carolina. They hustle drugs and commit minor crimes, in order to keep pocket money. Kamikaze becomes infatuated with Paula an older girl from his projects, but after she rejects him, he realizes that the world he is from is motivated by money and power. Paula, Tiffany, and Nee Cee, are three close friends from Liberty Street Projects, whom are all very beautiful street savvy older girls. The three friends willingly enter into a deadly life of hustling, deceit, and violence, when they join the cousins after they notice Kamikaze and Killa gaining power in their neighborhood. The two cousins form a powerful drug organization called the 187 CRU, and the three girls take on the ranks of lieutenants. Because of its tight organization the 187 CRU grows in power fast, all on the premise of the crew's motto, which is to murder it's way to power.

About the Author

Mikal El-Amin is a Publisher/Award Winning Author. He began writing roughly five years ago in 2005/2006, but began to intensely start writing professionally in 2007. He completed his first manuscript in 2008 and set out on the difficult task of getting published shortly afterwards. After submitting his manuscript to several publishers and being either turned down or not replied to at all, he revaluated his situation and came up with a new strategy. He has always envisioned his self becoming an entrepreneur and ultimately a successful businessman, so he started to reapply his ambitions of being an author with this type of mentality. So he came up with the idea to self publish his book, which led to an even bigger goal of creating and establishing his own company. With this newfound determination he did just that. In 2009 El-Amin triumphantly started his own publishing company. El-Amin thinks of his self as a new breed of author who will write across the genres of urban-fiction (genre fiction), fiction (mainstream fiction), and romance as well. Given his life experiences, versatility, love of diversity & culture, intellect, & education; he is definitely a author easily capable of achieving this. So far he has accomplished winning the following awards for his debut novel: 2009 LOS ANGELES BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD WINNER, 2010 SAN FRANCISCO BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD WINNER, 2010 NEW YORK BOOK FESTIVAL AWARD WINNER. His ultimate goal is to get into screen writing which he claims would be very gratifying and challenging for him.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A MUST BUY, December 17, 2010
This review is from: 187 Iz An Art (Paperback)
Kamikaze and Killa are the truth! Honestly, this is not the genre that I normally read. It was recommended to me and I was surprised that it blew away my expectations! The authors displayed the uncanny ability to tell a true to life "hood" story with the detail of an motion picture! I kid you not...I would not be surprise if someone turned this into a 21 century Juice with an edge! THIS IS A MUST BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep Paving The Way, December 17, 2010
This review is from: 187 Iz An Art (Paperback)
It is not easy to find a story that you can find yourself becoming a part of and being able to understand the thoughts of the characters. Mikal has taking this story to places that people might find familiar and to places that others never knew existed.

Writers like Robert Beck (Iceberg Slim) and Donald Goines paved ways for writers of our generation and Mikal has taken the path to new levels.

Keep doing what you do Mikal and keep raising the bar for our future authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is amazing!, November 22, 2010
This review is from: 187 Iz An Art (Paperback)
OMGOSH!!...MIKAL, I loved the book, it felt so real...I felt as if I was the nosey friend that followed Killa & Kaze around everywhere they went, ear hustling on everything. The morning after I read it, I woke up looking for Killa & Kaze in my house, because it felt so real. The way Paula made Kaze wait for hers although she wanted it just as bad as he did...Loved it! Ha! All of the chicks were ruthless...in more ways than one. When Debo raped Sam...I yelled out *ohhh it's on now*! I had to laugh at my self. All of the killings made me flinch as if I was standing in the line of fire or hiding behind a car...ha! I had tears in my eyes from the letter Killa wrote Kaze. :-) I could not book that book down! Wow! Do the dang thang I aint mad atcha!
