Great CD. 187 Lockdown are SpeedGarage masters., February 7, 1999

This review is from: 187 Lockdown Presents Sunday Flavas (Audio CD)
Like SG Masters the Dreem Teem and Tuff Jam, this duo put together a double album of ABSOLUTELY WICKED SpeedGarage gems, most of which are exclusive, unreleased or deleted making this sure to be a collectors album. How does it work? CD1 is a mixed disc and thank heavens its indexed for easy track access. CD2 contains the best of the gems unmixed for all you bedroom DJ's.Mr. New Jersey is back on CD1, track 2, Todd Edwards' Dancing for Heaven raises the roof in this mutha. Just as the Body & Soul compilation replicates the exact feelings and sounds of being in Club Vinyl on a Sunday afternoon, this album replicates the choons caned in many a London SpeedGarage club. If I still haven't convinced you to buy this album, check CD1 track 8, Banana Republic & Zoo Experience featuring Jody Obeya Days Go By. Now this is a song that is elegant in its simplicity, yet simply elegant! Want another? Check track 11 Tuff Jam featuring Tempo O'Neil Keep Holdin' On (Up Mix). Yeah! You know all that hype about SG personality Booker T. Well if you listen to his dub of Soul II Soul's Pleasure Dome (CD1, track 16) you'll know why! The hooks "Searchin' for the One" and "Are you Ready" are as infectious as whooping cough!
