This game is higly repetitive. You get a car and thers one guy sitting and driving(you controling it) and one guy sticking out of the window like some dog with guns, shotting at others(you control this too)and others(the comp players) shooting at you.
You drive and shoot............... Highly repetitive!!!!!!! The cars are not so good neither is the nitro and the guns are disastrous. You will love it for the first three, four races then it gets repetitive. Not recomended.

I think many people were too quick to dismiss this game because of its comical attempt at being hardcore 'gangsta.' It also has a really, really badly contrived storyline. If those things are important to you, then, yeah, you probably won't like this game.
For me, what matters most is overall gameplay, graphics and audio. And that's where this game shines. I find it amusing that another reviewer complained that this game is just driving and shooting and gets repetitive. You could say that practically any game gets repetitive because of the basic gameplay characteristics. What do Street Fighter games basically consist of? Jumping, kicking, and punching with some special moves. What about Mario games? Jumping and hitting boxes and enemies. What makes games fun and entertaining is mastering the game mechanics and strategizing to overcome the variety of levels and challenges. Yeah, you could oversimplify this game by saying it's just driving and shooting, but you've got to do it well to pass the good variety of challenging levels and missions that are a blast. Some levels are races, others are search-and-destroy type. Then you have missions such as escorting and protecting other vehicles. Depending on how well you do, you can unlock other vehicles. The controls are very responsive and the set up is great; you have two set-ups to choose from. One involves shooting using the buttons and the other allows you to use the R-stick to shoot. The graphics are decent and the background music is fair. This isn't a very complicated game and it doesn't take too long to go through all the missions and races to finish it. It certainly isn't a masterpiece, but isn't as horrible as some reviews make it out to be. Yeah, the pseudo-gansta dialogue will make you cringe on several occasions and the story is ultra-cliché, but if it's an intriguing storyline and great scripting you're looking for, why not just watch a movie? If you're looking for a good buffer game that you can pick up play for 30 minutes or a couple of hours at a time, then 187 Ride or Die has some entertaining gimmicks and trappings that will keep you occupied for a while. If you can get it for around $20 or less, you won't be disappointed.

When this game first came out, i was interested and had high hopes. I did the smart thing and rented it befor hand, and Im glad I did. As you problebly know, you are driving a car, trying to win, and can get wepons to blow up compeditors. that seemed like a good idea, and it was, lets start with the pros: pretty good graphics, good car physics, and a pretty decent arsinal to choose from, but thats it. this game would be better if the makers didn't try to give it a "gangster" script and voice acting. they tried way to hard to make it "gangster" by using too much and too stupid ghetto slang words such as "peep this" or "homie gansta" or crap like that. The gameplay is pretty good with just the get to first place while avoiding beiing blown up and blow up others. those races are good for an hour, then boring. they also mix the game types up too much in the story mode. instead of the type I just described as being the main objective, they throw too many other types in. in fact, youll find yourelf playing with this objective the LEAST of all. All the others game types Im not going to describe because it would take forever. just take my word, this game sucks. the script is trys too hard to be "gangster", the voice acting is terrible, and the game is fun for an hour, then you realize that it just sucks. if you still want to check it out, RENT IT. But dont be supprised when you realize you should have listened to me.
