Very soft, wash well, absorbent.

These towels are a good, large size; they are thick, soft and absorbent; and the grey is a nice, subtle color.

I like to buy towels made in the USA if possible.

Got a pair based on the reviews and have never been more pleased with towels. According to their labels (and another reviewer), the towels are made in USA (awesome!!). I have gotten so many towels at Target, thinking that they will be absorbent because they are soft and look nice, but this is not the case at all. I've been really disappointment with all of them.

Got the washcloth on sale. Was not sure what to expect since I never use this brand before. The cotton was very soft when arrived. I wash it and it still feel nice as new. Only time will tell if this is going to last long, but I am very happy with the quality (same as some other name brand that I got at the dept. store) for the price I paid at Amazon.

Update: This has become my favorite towel. I have since purchased more washcloths, hand towels and bath towels from 1888 Mills. Favorite means more uses and washes, but it stand up nicely. I've also share with some of my friends, they all think this is exceptional value. This was my first organic towel, so I have check out other brands and websites, they were all so expensive. Since I am happy with this one, I have no reason to pay more and try other brands.

One of my biggest problems shopping for washcloths (or anything made of fabric these days) is the industrial odor imbedded in the fabric from the factories they are made in (NOT in the USA). Even some "organically grown" items come with an odor that is difficult if not impossible to get rid of.

These washcloths 1888 Mills 100-Percent Organic Cotton Oversized Washcloth Set of 4, Leaf Green are Awesome! Super Nice, Super Soft & Absolutely NO Odor!! I 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a truly quality product! The price is quite a bonus as well! :)

I bought 8 sets because they are organic. After a few months use they developed 2" to 9" loose threads leaving unsightly runs in the towels. I snipped threads for a year before the fabric became more stable. If you purchase these towels and they have problems, return them to Amazon before their return expiration date - it's only about a month. 1888 mills did not have great customer relations at the time I contacted them about the defect and would not refund.

Finding organic towels is hard in general. Finding ones made at home and not in sets w/ hand towels, etc. is impossible, except for these. VERY impressed w/ the quality and price. Not too big and not too small. These towels are not super plush, yet they are very absorbent. I've gotten towels that felt like velvet to the touch that didn't remove water at all, just pushed it around. These work beautifully. And they feel warmer than non-organic towels. I know that sounds crazy but it's my experience.
Bought 2 sets, loved 'em so much we bought 2 more.

There is nothing special about these towels. I read the reviews and figured these would be big, heavy, soft and very absorbent. None of that is true.
Big - These are standard size towels that I can get in Walmart. These are not oversize, they are not huge, they are not big and the reviewers who think they are big must be very short and skinny.
Heavy - Not! They are actually pretty light. Compared to my Home Goods towels (cost of $7 each) they are about 3/4 the weight.
Soft - Not really. I have a front load HE Washer and washed these with Tide only, no fabric softener (so they will be absorbent). I dried them in a very new dryer on medium heat and they are pretty rough. Not the usual 5 star hotel fluffy soft. About on par with cheap K-Mart towels.
Absorbent - Average. I did not use fabric softener nor dryer sheets. These should be more absorbent, especially with all the fanatical reviews on here.
Color - I ordered the grey and they are grey, nothing special, but the picture was as advertised.
Workmanship - Decent overall. I would not in any way say these are high end. I have some threads loose and the feel is just average.
Organic - Yes, these are organic and the cotton is from the US. Yay. One star for that.
Overall, I'm disappointed, hence the two stars. With so many reviews of this product I was pretty confident that these would be what I was looking for. I was let down. In my opinion, this type of towel can be had in a multitude of local stores, at a cheaper price and you can feel what you are getting.
One star for being organic and one star for being excruciatingly normal and boring.
Minus one star for all the hype on Amazon. Minus one star for the quality. Minus 1/2 star for price and minus 1/2 star for being scratchy, small and not what I was expecting.

The size is perfect, bigger than a regular bath towel, but smaller than a bath sheet or beach towel. I love the medium thickness. We use our towels a few times before we wash them, and these dry overnight, no problem, no odors. I'll let the resorts use those super-thick towels and wear out their washers and dryers washing them everyday. The softness and absorbency are great. Organic cotton, no chemical odor, made in the USA, and a great price compared to other organic cotton. The "earth" color is more of what I would call camel, latte or tan, but it's a pleasant earth tone. I will be ordering more soon, I love them!
