Bravo, Joaquin.

Joaquin Sabina is back with a full length album (74 mins) and puts together an eclectic blend of music and writes the lyrics of all the songs with the exception of a few where Antonio Oliver contributes. The first thing I noticed when listening to this album is there is not a single song I disliked. It's all good, but of course, there are some songs that stand out as hits and will quickly getpeople's attention. The first one I noticed was, "BarbiSuperestar" which had a great beat and sound to it. "Cerradopor derribo" another great song, shows Sabina's return to his Andalucian roots (Ubeda, Jaen) with a Flamenco song having some wonderful background vocalists singing in that very passionate style. "Pero que hermosas eran", again has some excellent background singers (female), who have a more mainstream Spanish style (soft but very typical). In "Como te digo "Co" te digo la "O", his only rap song, it is loaded with satire of every kind imaginable. It is my opinion, that this free thinker doesn't give a hoot what people think about him, he's probably looking for a cheap laugh. Although, I can give credit for putting into perspective the mistakes people make in their life and the consequences that follow, especially in the song "19 dias y 500 noches". All in all this album is great and entertaining and possibly being the best album hailing from Spain in 1999.

This is the best CD from Joaquin Sabina that I ever heard. In my collection I have many great albums from Sabina, like: "El hombre del traje gris", "Esta boca es mia", "Hotel dulce Hotel", "Fisica y Quimica", "Yo, mi, me, contigo" and others, but I consider this is the best. If you would like hear an excellent singer and exceptional poet, you must buy this album. Sabina has a singular manner to say his feeling. He has talent to touch our life.
