Classic Bessie...,

This review is from: 1928-29 (Audio CD)
This disc features the classic tracks Bessie recorded with Clarence Williams (piano) and Eddie Lang (guitar)--some of Lang's best work! The songs reflect Bessie's quintessential ethos: playful sexual innuendo--especially the combination of food & sex, as featured in "Kitchen Man," etc.
The St. Louis Blues tracks are from the early talkie Bessie stared in: the sound is a little rough, but the tracks are historically significant. |
