About six or seven years ago I got five volumes in this series. For some reason the other five books were not at that time available. All ten volumes have since been re-released and the entire series is available again. Together, the ten volume present an extraordinary visual record of the twentieth century. One of the reviewers for this volume has incorrectly stated that this volume deals with England. It is true that England is one of the countries represented, but the books are not restricted to any one country. The books were assembled in England, but the photos show life in countries across the planet and personalities from all over are represented.
As with all of the books in the series, the book is divided into various subjects, focusing alternately as subject areas as politics, entertainment, transportation, science, celebrities, and other subjects. I love these books and strongly recommend them to anyone interested in . . . well, interested in just about anything. Each volume allows us to peek back at decades of our past, each functions as a time capsule. |
