Model 5302 (not 3500),

This review is from: 1950's Western Electric Model 3500 with F1 Handset (Kitchen)
Hello All ... the Western Electric Model 3500 was a hybrid touch tone telephone from the late 1960s - early 70s ... this is actually a Western Electric Model 5302 which is a hybrid combination of a Western Electric Model 302 (from the 1930s - 40s) and a Western Elctric 500 (from the 50s -60s) ... When the Model 500 went into production in the very late 1949 era Western Electric and Bell Telephone had an excess of Model 302 telephone parts left over ... so they created a smaller exterios shell that was similar in appearance to the Model 500 and placed in it Model 302 parts ... they "remanufactured" these telephones from the mid 1950s into the very early 1960s ... buyer beware if the seller can not name and reserach what they are selling correctly ...

The Model 3500 is a transitional model between the WE 300 "Lucy Phone" and the more modern 500. The base is a bit shorter, the dial smaller, and the set fitted with an F1 handset.
Great form, great function. A must for any serious 'phone collection. |
