Harry is IT in my book, and these recordings catch him at what I feel is the apex of his career. Although they vary a bit between them in quality you can get a feel for what this band sounded like when it was HOT! And that my friends is a very good thing. To me, the early sixties are a treasure trove of big band excellence. Woody Herman, Harry James, B.G., and some others were recorded in fidelity and when they were still trying to be relevant and new. Check out the youtube of Harry James doing Taste of Honey on Ed Sullivan. Have been trying to find this for years, and finally got a copy for a reasonable price. Please reissue this so that others may enjoy it!
