The Musical Turning Point of a Generation,

1964 marked a definitive turning point in rock and roll. The British invasion swept across the United States, drastically changing the music charts within six months, and American radio would never be the same. Doowop and teen idols were out, and a harder version of rock and roll was in. Time Life's "1964 Classic Rock" collection highlights the best from one of the most unique years in music history.
